Jump Back Up July Action for Happiness Calendar plus bonus Podcast episode

July 1, 2024

Last week I wrote about the importance of a mid-year review to ensure we live well and enjoy life. I’ve recorded a podcast episode going into detail on the points I noted in the post.

I’ve included them here again for your convenience as well as this month’s Action for Happiness Calendar which fits well with your mid-year review. Here is the pdf version to download –

How to do a mid-year review to live well and enjoy life

Are you waiting for something to happen? Are you leaving things until ‘later’? Are you keeping your ‘good things’ for later? Why? Start living well and enjoying life today.

Take some time to create some space to get quiet and grounded and consider your thoughts on the following:

  • Tune into your body. How do you feel right now?
  • What are you most proud of from the past 6 months?
  • What has felt in alignment, and what has felt out of alignment?
  • Have you focused on the things you said were most important at the start of the year?

For the rest of year’s planning, reflect on these questions:

  • What are your focus areas and priorities for the next 6 months?
  • What is the one goal you most want to achieve?
  • What one change could you make that would have the greatest impact on your wellbeing?
  • How do you want to feel on December 31st?
  • How can you align your time and energy to align with the above?

Will you make time for a mid-year review? If you need help, contact me and we can make it happen.

Have a lovely week!

Those are all good ideas for stopping spiraling with downward thoughts. I read a book by a Saskatchewan author a few years ago called “Focus on the 90” by Darci Lang. I would send you a copy if you would like to read it. It’s spot on about how 90 % of our life is amazing and 10 % is not but people get caught up in seeing the 10. She had all sorts of strategies. It really helped change my life. Hope to make it over to the podcast this week when I am pruning the roses. Bernie

Hi Bernie, that book sounds great and I totally agree with the concept. We focus on the small negative things rather than all the goods things. I’d love a copy but perhaps I can find on Instagram. I don’t want you spending any money to send one to me, unless you have an e-copy you could send. Enjoy pruning your roses and I hope you enjoy the podcast. x

Thank you for this. I have kind of wallowed in my misery for much too long. My life is so good when I step back and have a really good look at it. I’m proud of lots of things I’ve accomplished and need to remind myself of that! I think, once Mike’s surgeries are over, life is going to be better than ever. I have definitely been working on my health. Every time I pick up my weights, the photo of you from the back pops into my head!

    Have a wonderful week, Sue!

We all go through those phases, Marsha and I’m sure you and Mike will both feel so much better after his surgeries. I know when my Mike is struggling with health issues it can become all encompassing can’t it? I’m glad my photo inspires you and well done you for getting back into the weights. Take care. x
