Happy Monday! It’s time for Your Weekly Boost and this week I want to discuss the power we have in just being our authentic selves.
Last week I wrote about Getting back up when life gets too hard. I had been going through a difficult phase and needed to step back from life for a time and I thank many of you who took the time to respond with supportive encouragement. During that time I reflected on how we present to others and the feeling that we aren’t quite ‘enough’.

Oh, this one hit hard, Sue! I think I’m always on. As I read this, I kept trying to think of a time when I wasn’t “performing.” At first, I thought it was when I was with my youngest granddaughter this past week. And, I realized I was performing as I thought “the fun grammy” would. She didn’t care what I did. She just wanted to be with me. I need to take a lesson from both her and you! I’m going to try to be less what others expect of me and who I truly am (if I can remember). Thank you for such a thought provoking and growth-inducing post!

Oh Marsha, it is so hard to try and live up to our own expectations rather than the expectations of others. There is the need to please, isn’t there? We need to learn to please ourselves first and not be so hard on ourselves. Your granddaughter loves you for who you are and for spending time with her. xx
This was a really good post Sue and I appreciate you sharing and being so authentic.
