A few weeks ago, I wrote about ‘dreaming big’ and taking a new direction with the website. I changed the name and branding, and also suggested that there would be more changes coming over the next few months.
I had such positive feedback from everyone and am so grateful for the comments and response. I was nervous to make the change, could I actually live up to my dreams and make them a reality? Was I in fact just dreaming?
Overcoming Fear of Failure
Procrastination set in as a result of self-doubt and fear of failure. I knew I was making excuses not to complete tasks on my list because I was feeling overwhelmed with the ‘technical’ side. So I came back to thinking about my ‘Why’.
Why does this project mean so much to me? I mean, the world won’t end if I don’t proceed.
So I pushed through the difficult things and I’m going for it! I’m making the next part of the dream a reality.
Women Living Well After 50 is now on YouTube
Today I published Episode 1 of Conversations with Women Living Well After 50. Here is an excerpt from the video:
Conversations with Women Living Well After 50 is a program designed to inspire, motivate and educate Women Over 50 to live their best life.
Through conversations with my regular panel of experts and women with a story to share, I will cover a range of topics relevant to midlife and beyond including health and wellness, mindset, confidence, relationships, fashion & beauty, travel and so much more. I will also be adding my thoughts gained through life experience over the last 60+ years.
I look forward to you joining me on this journey of self-awareness and self-discovery. Take a peek at Episode 1, which is just a short introduction to what you can expect. I would love your feedback as I value your comments.

Congratulations, Sue – that is wonderful news and so exciting! I really enjoyed your first interview. Toni x
Thank you Toni, it is very exciting but taking it slowly. I want to bring topics that women are interested in rather than just making videos for the sake of it. x
Well done Sue – I love how you’re doing all these brave and interesting things! Looking forward to seeing what you upload in the future – I’ve subscribed! xx
Thanks Leanne! I’m hoping not to put extra pressure on myself but keep the ‘balance’ (as you suggested in our interview). Thanks for subscribing and I look forward to having you as my guest again. x
Hi Sue – just shared this on my social media – having a youtube channel is very cool – you’re rocking this next stage in your blogging journey xx #MLSTL
Hi Leanne, yes I’m excited and enjoying the whole process. For me, I need to have change whether big or small and this project is certainly stretching my comfort zone. x
I’m really excited to see your new ventures! Well done Sue
Thanks so much Christina and it was lovely having you as my guest xx
Congratulatioss, Sue – Your first video is truly awesome.! I can’t wait to see more!!
Thank you Donna! Exciting times but also a little scary because I’ve put myself out there now so have to ‘perform’! Enjoy your weekend xx
Hi Sue, wow, you really are amazing! What a great idea and your video is very informative, it tells us exactly what you’re doing! (I’ve subscribed as Never Mind the Wrinkles). I’m looking forward to seeing interviews, travel stories, and maybe a few mental health tips. Once again I wish you great success with this new look! 🙂 x
Hi Cheryl, it is a start and lots to learn but I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and giving it a try. x
Congratulations Sue, you are amazing in all you do, such an inspiration for us! I’ve subscribed and might even do an interview with you one day! Great work 🙂
Back for #mlstl Sue and sharing!
Thank you :)xx
Awesome Sue! You have made the transition and rebranding look effortless. And the first video was well done! Congrats!
Thank you Nancy, it is a huge learning curve and I still have to perfect lighting etc. You have to start somewhere though otherwise you never start. xx
That was so good, Sue. I love the way you have grown and developed. Your rebranding was a masterstroke as well. At least calling it over 50 does not exclude those of us may be seen as not fitting ‘middle-age’ whatever that is 🙂 It is often defined by younger people and if they follow you, they will come to see that a marked timeline is not needed to have a continuing productive life.
CONGRATULATIONS on the video and that our Julie has chosen your post to be FEATURED on the next Blogger’s Pit Stop.
Thank you so much Kathleen. I have grown over the last 5 years and yes Over 50 means all women Over 50 – we’ve still got it! Thank you also to Julie for selecting my post to be Featured this week. xx
Congratulations, Sue! Well done with your first Episode. I look forward to hearing more. #MLSTL
Thanks Natalie, stepping out of my comfort zone for sure. xx
Congratulations! Looks very inviting! #MLSTL (and your new pic is a nice one too!)
Thanks Lydia it is a challenge but I’m excited to have a new project. x
I have to admit I’m not a big watcher of YouTube Sue. I tend to read blog posts either on my computer if I’m linking up, or via phone if I’m just reading. But podcasts and vlogs just aren’t something I’ve really gotten into. I have started to listen to some podcasts on the drive between my mother’s place and mine as it’s just over 30 mins on the highway.
Weirdly I don’t even like watching TV on a computer. I’ll only watch ‘catchup’ on my actual TV.
PS. I do sometimes watch a short Facebook live, but it needs to only be a few minutes….
Hi Deb, I find I’m listening to podcasts more and that is the future direction I’ll be taking. I’m finding that I would rather listen than read these days as I can listen in the car when I’m driving to Brisbane from the Coast twice a week.
You are very inspirational, Sue. You come across beautifully on the video. I mentioned to you on Instagram how you look stunning! The topics you describe are interesting and I look forward to seeing more! I really like your rebranding. It has a feeling of inclusivity with a mix of decades and a fresh and up to date look. Looking forward to connecting soon. xx. #MLSTL and sharing SM
Thank you for your positive feedback, Erica. I have quite a few interviews lined up on a range of topics so I’m excited about my new project. Enjoy your week and look forward to catching up. xx
Congratulations Sue! This is an exciting step forward. I’m sure the topic will resonate with many women!
Hi Michele, it is exciting as it is a new direction for me and although I will never be Oprah, I’m enjoying the whole process and that is what really matters isn’t it? Enjoying what we do. x
You’re going great guns, Sue and providing lots of great resources! Well done and I hope you’re enjoying the journey.
Hi Christine, I am enjoying this new project and excited that I have quite a few interviews lined up on a range of topics. It has given me a renewed enthusiasm which I was lacking for some time. Enjoy your week. x
This is great! Congratulations on your new adventure. It’s great to see midlife bloggers reaching out to new channels – not that You Tube is new but I don’t think there are a lot of midlife blogs on the channel. The idea of your project sounds interesting. I look forward to checking it out.
Thanks Deb, it is exciting and scary at the same time but I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and giving it a try. My main goal is to start a podcast in the second half of the year. I love trying new things as they keep my brain active and challenged.
Congratulations Sue. So much change for the good for you…where is your lovely ‘avatar’ though? Love Denyse #mlstl
Hi Denyse, thank you and I will think about changing the Avatar. Have a good week.xx
Excellent work, Sue! It’s inspirational to see you going after your goals, and at the same time, you are providing a great service to the rest of us. I look forward to watching your interviews. #MLSTL
Thanks Christie! I’m enjoying the whole process especially connecting with Women I’ve never met before. I have quite a few interviews lined up so I’m excited to be undertaking this project. x
Great to see how you have grown your blog and website, and even taken the YouTube plunge. Dreaming big can work out! #MLSTL
Thanks Enda! I’m excited about my new project and giving it a go! I love to try new things as it keeps me challenged and moves me out of my comfort zone. Have a great week!
