Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a lovely weekend and are ready to take on the week.
The theme for this week is ‘SPARKLE’ because we can all do with a little sparkle and magic in our lives- can’t we?
Sparkle means to be lively and excited.
How do we lose our Sparkle?
Too often we can get dragged down by life or people and we forget to sparkle and enjoy life.
- We hold back our sparkle and live by other people’s rules rather than our own. In doing so, we lose our authentic self. It is exhausting trying to be someone we think others want us to be rather than being our own beautiful self.
- We don’t want to stand out from the crowd rather than being proud of the unique, wonderful woman that you are.
- We listen to the voice in our head that tells us we aren’t good enough.
- We live with limiting beliefs or things we were taught as children don’t show off rather than celebrating our successes and wins. We compare ourselves to others and our own sparkle starts to dull. Let’s change that from today……
THE CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK: How will you bring some sparkle to your day?
You deserve some sparkle in your life – share a comment or a photo of how you are sparkling today……. Are you up for the challenge?
Let’s build that sparkle from within starting by reading today’s quote and saying it three times out loud whilst looking in the mirror….

Here’s to sparkling!

Hi Sue – I hadn’t thought of it as “sparkle” – but the idea is something I think about a lot. The idea of not comparing and despairing, recognizing our own uniqueness, living a life that makes us happy…. just doing “me” makes me smile – and I guess that’s the sparkle. Hope you’re sparkling today and all’s well in your world. x
Hi Leanne, I just like the word sparkle and I came across some really good quotes. After being out of action for a while, I was starting to feel dull and down – it’s time to bring back the sparkle. x
You know what’s really ironic? I did a mini retreat at our church earlier this year about sparkling. And, you would think, after writing something like that and presenting it, I would surely know to sparkle. But, I don’t…and your list of why I don’t is so spot on. I’m going to start to sparkle. I think I’ll write it on a note and put it on my mirror. Thanks, Sue!

Hi Marsha, if I remember correctly you haven’t been well either and that really can make us feel down. As you know I’ve been ill lately and having tests so I haven’t felt too bright and chirpy. I’m starting to feel better so I need to bring back some sparkly into my life. I’m glad my post helped and take care. xx
Happy Tuesday to you Sue (although it is still Monday here).
Thank you for this great reminder of retaining/regaining our sparkle. This simple focus can make a HUGE positive difference!
Hi Donna, a simple focus can make a huge difference but sometimes we think it has to be harder than what it really is. x
Hi sue, this was just what I needed today! Thanks Sue for the reminder that we all sparkle in our way and what works for someone else doesn’t work for everyone!
Hi Deb, so pleased the post helped. I really wrote it for myself but also to help others find some sparkle in their day. x
That does sound like wonderful advice, Sue – I’ve felt a bit less than sparkly this year, but think the tide might have turned. I was so sorry to hear about your issues, and hope you’re feeling a bit better now.
I’m sorry to hear you haven’t been feeling to ‘sparkly’ this year. We really must have a catch up but glad to hear the tide might be turning for you. xx

Since I have become older, I have lost so many people that, at times, it hard to regain my enthusiasm for life. It is a good subject to explore. Thanks for your post.
It is difficult to maintain the joy in life Bernadette especially when as you say we start to lose people who are special in our lives. Take care and hope you can find some sparkle from my post. x
