Wellness Wednesday: Natural Skin & Hair Tips

It’s time for our monthly link up for Wellness Wednesday and this month we are sharing our Natural Skin & Hair Tips.

You’ve just heard my review of the products from the Gorgeous Woman Skincare Range, so I’d like to welcome back Min, from Write of the Middle, who will be sharing more about the products and also her skincare tips.

Min was my guest back in March and wrote about 12 Tips for Self-Investment in your 50s & Beyond so I thought I would invite her back to tell us more about her new venture with the Gorgeous Woman Product Range.

Tell us a little about the Gorgeous Woman Product Range?

There’s actually three skin care ranges that have been created by WomanOil8 Australia. There’s the Gorgeous Woman Skin Care range which I use.  The beautiful nourishing blends are hydrating, anti-aging, and suitable for normal, sensitive, dry, mature skin types.

Wellness Wednesday: Natual Skin & Hair Tips

Then there’s the Gorgeous Girl Skin Care range which again is beautiful nourishing blends of the finest botanical oils that balance and moisturise perfectly. It’s suitable for normal, oily, combination, and acne type skin – from teens years on.

Finally, there’s the ManOil8 Skin Care range especially for men – again made with the finest botanical oil blends which are soothing, calming and hydrating and suitable for all skin types.

What I love about these skin care ranges is that they are 100% Australian made and owned (actually handcrafted locally here in the Redlands).

  • They’re never tested on animals and are cruelty free.
  • They’re vegan friendly.
  • They’re made from pure plant oils – organic, extra-virgin, cold pressed and CO2 extraction.  There are absolutely no petrochemicals, synthetic ingredients, parabens or toxic ingredients at all.
  • They’re gentle and nourishing, hypoallergenic and pH balanced to support the skin’s acid mantle barrier.
  • Only the very best premium oils are used, reputably sourced, organic, cold-pressed and Australian wherever possible, as well as the finest European and international oils on the planet.

Why did you choose to become involved with Gorgeous Woman?

I’d been on the lookout for something extra to take on board in addition to my blog.  Something that complimented what my blog and I are all about (seeking balance of mind, body and spirit and prioritising oneself by self-investment).

As women we often neglect ourselves during the child-rearing years and in mid-life I believe it is time to prioritise ourselves and do what we can to feel and be the best version of ourselves as possible so that we can enjoy active and healthy lives for our remaining years.

If we feel good on the inside, it shows on the outside and if we feel good on the outside we will also feel good on the inside.  I have focussed a lot (on the blog and in my own life) on feeling good on the inside and with this skin care range I saw an opportunity to help women (including myself, and girls and men!) to feel good on the outside too, which in turn helps with our self-esteem and self-confidence.

I have been very interested in natural plant oils for a long time, so this opportunity caught my attention on many levels.  And, as it turns out, I absolutely LOVE the products and use them myself.

My favourite times of day are mornings and evenings when I use the products.  They make my skin feel so silky soft, nourished, super hydrated and supple. I can honestly say my skin has never felt so good. It makes it very easy to be passionate about these products when I’ve experienced the benefits of them and love them myself.

What is your favourite Gorgeous Woman product and why?

Oh this is a very hard question to answer because I honestly love all the products I use (Gorgeous Woman skin care range).  I think I will have to say the Gorgeous Woman Face Cleanser because from the very moment it is on my skin, I am in heaven.

The gorgeous citrus scent and I feel the beautiful nourishment instantly and it sets me up to enjoy the whole Gorgeous Woman skin care regime – which is quick and easy but oh so luxurious!

What is your top Skin Care Tip

Obviously I am very passionate about the Gorgeous Woman Skin Care range (and its siblings) but for very good reason!  Our skin is the largest organ of the body. It protects us from microbes and the elements and helps regulate body temperature. It is also porous and absorbs whatever you put on it.

It makes sense to look after our skin with natural products that contain absolutely no nasty chemicals or toxins. I recommend 100% natural plant-based oils that support and maintain the skin’s acid mantle in protecting the skin from pollutants, UV rays, temperature changes and add moisture to the skin.

The acid mantle is your skin’s protective layer made up of an acidic film that keeps bacteria out of the skin cells. It also helps with elasticity and secretes enzymes that help break down excess sebum (oily secretions) in the skin.

Thanks to Min for sharing more about the Gorgeous Woman Skin Care Range and also her skincare tips.  Please visit her over at her website Write of the Middle and you will also find the Skin Care products.

Loving the push for all natural, no toxins. There are so many fantastic Aussie brands out there now leading the way in this regard. Great stuff! Thanks Min and Sue 🙂

Hi Leanne it is great to see the all natural products. I read your review last week. I know my skin feels so much better using less harsh products. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Thank you so much Sue for such a positive and lovely review! I’m so happy that you’re enjoying the products and feeling the benefits just as I do. Your vlog approach to the review is perfect! Thank you so much for your support. I’ll just mention here that there is also a Gorgeous Woman Skin Care Facebook Page here for anyone interested: https://www.facebook.com/gorgeouswomanskincarebrisbaneeastwynnummanly/ It’s only quite new but you’ll see Skin Care Saturday posts published there each week and other bits and bobs now and then. Thank again Sue! xo

My pleasure Min and I’m so pleased you enjoyed the vlog and my review. I’m practicing for my talk on Saturday. x

HI, Sue – Thank you for sharing such a great review. I switched to using only natural products on my (naturally curly) hair over nine years ago. I have never looked back since.

    • Reply Sue Loncaric May 9, 2018 at 12:54

I’d love to have curls Donna but I think they would need attention to keep them soft. I love the idea of wash and wear though.

  • Reply Jo May 10, 2018 at 09:38

I like the idea of using natural products on my face and body – and try to do so as much as possible. I’d love to find something natural that could deal with my hair though – the closest I’ve found is the Aveda be curly range… Great review, by the way.

HI Jo, welcome home! I would love your curls but of course you would say you don’t like them – we all want something different don’t we. I’m sure curls would need some extra care but I don’t have many hair tips that is why I keep mine shorter. Glad you liked the review! Hope you are settling in okay x

Hi Min – Thank you for sharing about the Gorgeous Woman Skincare Range and tips. It was lovely to hear Sue’s voice, too. Thanks, Sue, for featuring Min again. Have a great week!

Thanks Natalie and great to link up with this month’s prompt.

Your skin looks so good Sue you are definitely a poster girl for these products which sound gorgeous to use.

    • Reply Sue Loncaric May 10, 2018 at 13:48

Oh thanks for the compliment Jan. I believe it is probably the combination of skincare, no alcohol for 10 weeks and drinking more water. The products were quite different to what I expected and I’m sold on them now. Have a great day and enjoy! x

You’re the perfect advertisement for these products Sue, as your skin looks amazing. Thanks for reviewing these products with an honest down-to-earth approach. #TeamLovinLife

    • Reply Sue Loncaric May 11, 2018 at 07:26

You are lovely Kathy and thank you for the compliment. I do think it is a combo of the skincare products and also going alcohol free for 10 weeks to support my husband. Now that has been a challenge!

I am loving the Kosmea range full of natural goodies right now.

    • Reply Sue Loncaric May 11, 2018 at 07:26

Hi Nikki! I haven’t heard of Kosmea so will take a look x

I appreciate you sharing so much info on your skin care, as I am dreadfully lax about it, and as a woman over 50, I really can’t afford to continue to be. My good energy level may say ‘young,’ but my face definitely doesn’t, so I’m going to make it a point to give it more attention. Assuming it’s not too late that is!

    • Reply Sue Loncaric May 11, 2018 at 07:29

Skin care is important Tamara but yes it does sometimes seem all too hard. That is why I love these products because they are quick and easy to use plus I can see results. It is never too late to start skin care xx

You and Min are great advocates for this range Sue – and you were very brave doing a video to outline it all for us (much braver than I am!) Interesting to read some more about why Min has taken it on and how much you both love it. When I feel rich enough to spend more than my basic $10 on moisturizer I’ll be ready to check it out.

    • Reply Sue Loncaric May 11, 2018 at 07:31

Hi Leanne! I’m not sure the Shopping Channel will be calling me to do presentations but I’m stepping out of my comfort zone a bit more. Basically, any moisturizer is good we all have budgets to follow so as long as you are moisturizing that is the main thing. xx

These products sound smashing. I love anything with a citrus fragrance. And yay for no animal testing. Wonder if they are available in the U.S.?

    • Reply Sue Loncaric May 12, 2018 at 06:04

Not sure, Leslie I think they are locally made. I will check with Min. xx

  • Reply Lee MacArthur May 11, 2018 at 15:11

Can this be ordered through Amazon? I live in the middle of Bush Alaska and I have to get all face care products via Amazon or pick them up when I’m in town. Who in the US might carry them?

    • Reply Sue Loncaric May 12, 2018 at 06:04

Hi Lee, I think they might only be available in Australia, but I can certainly check with Min for you or you could contact her through her website. They really are lovely to use. Bush Alaska sounds very interesting and remote. Have a beautiful weekend and thanks for stopping by x

Haven’t heard of this brand before. Sounds like a nice product. Shared your post ♥

    • Reply Sue Loncaric May 22, 2018 at 06:39

I think it is a local brand Dee but I’m sure there would be similar products in the US. Thanks for sharing xx
