Weekend Coffee Share #10

Quotes I liked

A thought for today especially if you are like me and have had an extra busy week! Although most of my week has been filled with things I wanted to do, for example, the joy of spending two days with my grandsons, sometimes we just need to step back and reset. The message from this week’s Micro Mondays podcast was a question: Where are you placing your energy? Even positive experiences can drain us of energy so take time this weekend to reset, replenish and restore.

What I did to stay healthy, happy and living well

A visit to the Dentist was not the most romantic way to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary, but regular Dental appointments are important to ensuring our teeth and gums remain healthy, especially as we age.

I actually took some time out and cancelled, postponed or rescheduled appointments in my life. In my blog post, Tips for Avoiding the Over-Commitment Trap, I explained how once again, life was taking over and it was time to reset, refocus and relax.

With this feeling in mind, I wanted to put the focus on our Mental Well-being so I’ve come up with Mental Well-being in May.

Join me for Mental Well-being in May

Mental Well-Being in May
Mental Well-Being in May

Mental Well-being is certainly a foundation of living well. During May I invite you to join me for Mental Well-being in May as I focus the blog, my Weekly Living Well letter to susbcribers, podcast and in the Women Living Well After 50 Facebook Community, on this vital pillar of health. It’s all about prioritising your Mental health and well-being.

What is Mental Well-being in May?

Simply, it is about putting the focus on our Mental Health and Wellness every day for May. That’s 31 days which hopefully will be the beginning of a lifestyle. You can read all about Mental Well-being in May HERE and I hope to see you there as we continue to Live Well together.

Guest Interview on the Podcast – The Emotion Code

Releasing emotional blocks and wounds, we have carried throughout our life is an issue many of us face. Letting go of limiting beliefs can be difficult to achieve.

My guest today in Conversation, is Kuve Jansky Bradley from Guided Energy Mediation and we are discussing The Emotion Code – what is it? and how it can help you to release the blockages that are preventing you from living well. You can watch on YouTube or listen to the Podcast through this link.

Thanks to Natalie from Natalie the Explorer who started this idea earlier in the year. I link up each week with my contribution. It is a great way to record what happens in life, like a diary or journal really and to reflect and be grateful for the good things that happen in my life.

Well that was my week and I hope you enjoyed taking a peek into my life. How was your week? I’d love you to share with me what you have been up to.

I absolutely LOVE your “Be strong” tank top! Great message! I’ve had a busy week too, finished one project, had a couple of Zoom meetings about other projects, and I could finally get back to my graphic design course. The weekend will be all about music, photography and enjoyment.

I love the tank top too! I’m not usually one to wear tops with messages on them but this one definitely struck a chord. Love the sound of your creative weekend -just perfect! x

What a great idea of focus on mental health in May. This is usually the time of year I feel the best as we get to spend so much more time outside and on the hiking trails (my happy place!)

Hi Joanne, it is about finding your happy place isn’t it? Life is so much better when we can visit our happy place regularly. Enjoy Springtime! x

Hi Sue, I love how you are focusing on mental health on May. Being over-committed is definitely where stress starts. I have to remind myself of that now that life has gone back to normal. I’ve been listening to more podcasts lately including yours, which I really enjoy. Take care, and have a great weekend, Christina

Hi Christina, thanks for your feedback and I’m so pleased you are now back at work. It must feel wonderful but of course, I’m sure it is tiring getting back into work mode. Take care and enjoy your week. x

Nice quote you found! I think most people have to de-stress, including me. I find reading very relaxing.

Hi Sue – I loved seeing you looking so buff and confident in your new tee shirt and what a great ambassador you’ll be! I’ll be checking in regularly during May as you share your mental wellness tips – anything positive and affirming is great in my opinion – and often very necessary in these uncertain times.

Hi Sue, I love your words “reset, replenish, and restore.” My husband and I communicate daily about our mental health. Sometimes I think this is even more important than our physical health. Of course, it is all interrelated. Congratulations again as an Ambassador for JustStrong. You are inspirational on many levels, Sue. I look forward to listening to the podcasts next. A great post and a great focus. (By the way, I am increasing my reps and sets since I saw you in your shirt – Thank you!)

  • Reply Debbie Harris April 26, 2021 at 17:46

Your shirt is just perfect for you Sue, I look forward to hearing more about being an ambassador. Your podcast on happiness was also a great reminder of what our triggers are, many thanks for bringing us these bite sized chunks pf wisdom!

    • Reply Sue Loncaric April 28, 2021 at 04:24

Hi Deb, yes I feel I’m part of the team now, with you and Leanne. Both of you have great t-shirts and I loved your BOLD one you recently bought. x

Sue, such a great post and I really enjoyed the micro monday for this week….such a good perspective. I think happiness triggers for me are the smell of fresh cut grass, the smell of lilacs, and daphne adora (reminds me of my mom), the sound of birds. So many things. I like the challenge of taking an irritation and making it a happiness trigger…hmmmm…got to think on that one.

    I love your tank top.

    • Reply Sue Loncaric April 28, 2021 at 04:25

Yes, turning negative triggers into happiness triggers is a challenge but worth it. Thanks for your thoughts, Kirstin and have a great day! x

  • Reply Kirstin April 28, 2021 at 00:44

Another question. How do the tanks fit? I typically wear a US Lg or Xl (all depending on fit)…but I’m not sure if in this one I should go with the xl or xxl. I don’t know my size on top as far as 12, 14, etc. I’m 14 on the bottoms.

    • Reply Sue Loncaric April 28, 2021 at 04:24

Hi Kirstin, I’ve emailed you a quick response and will send details as soon as I can. Thanks
