Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!- June 6

June 7, 2024

Welcome to the Weekend Traffic Jam a weekly link up which I’m delighted to be joining as a co-host in 2024.

Each week, I’ll be joining Marsha, from Marsha in the Middle, Melynda, from Scratch Made Food for Hungry People, and Lisa, from Boondock Ramblings, so please take the time to visit the other co-hosts as well as two or three of those who have linked!

If you would like to be a co-host come join us. It’s a great way to meet other bloggers.

This week I started Women Living Well After 50 Daily Walking in June Challenge and set up a Facebook group. It’s a simple challenge really. All you have to do is walk every day. I set the group up as a way to keep me accountable and also hopefully inspire others to stay active with a daily walk. I provide tips and ideas for getting our daily walk in and so far the group has been fabulous posting their photos and checking in when they have walked.

This week, I was again on the Wednesday Words and Whimsy link up co-hosting duties with my friend, Deb from Deb’s World. We are co-hosting for two weeks whilst our friend and regular host, Min from Write of the Middle is celebrating a milestone birthday in Fiji and this was our second and final week.

For my #WWWhimsy post I wrote about My week living well #WWWhimsy June 5. If you are a regular reader of my blog, you will know that over the last month or so, I’ve been focused on how I can be an active participant in ALL aspects of life. You can read about what it means to me HERE and I will continue to write updates and provide ideas so we can all live well and enjoy fulfilled lives.

Do you ever fail in the kitchen? I love cooking and fortunately my failures don’t happen often. For this month’s What’s On Your Plate? I wrote about the birthday dinner I made for my husband and you might like to check out A Birthday dinner success & a flop! – #WOYP?

This week I’ve taken up the Style Imitating Art Fashion Challenge. I have seen this on Marsha in the Middle and it is a fortnightly challenge based around art and fashion. It’s a great way to be creative in your fashion thinking and learn about art and artists at the same time and I was introduced to some new bloggers. I finally found the inspiration to join in and you can read my take on the prompt and let me know if I was a ‘hit or miss’. Style Imitating Art Fashion Challenge – Women Living Well After 50 . I also published a new episode on the Women Living Well After 50 Podcast. This week I interviewed Susan Lazar Hart, a Transformational Mindset Coach and Author. We discussed her idea of The Congruent Life Method: Living in Harmony

I’ve linked these posts to this week’s link up so hope you enjoy reading them.

A 7 way tie is pretty crazy! Good luck with your walking intentions. I try to get out for a walk or a hike nearly every day too.

It is crazy, Joanne! Having started the walking group we have all be supporting each other and encouraging our daily walks. It’s been great x

Hi Sue and well done you for encouraging people to walk. Living in the very small island of the UK in a small town it’s easy to walk to places either in town or in the countryside. In fact there’s no need to ‘hike’ and I don’t definitely don’t do rugged walking but every day I walk into town and sometimes back again and like to reach 5000 steps every day, but at least 3x a week I like to walk well over 8000 -10000 steps. I think it must be more challenging in hotter countries, at least we don’t have that problem as it’s pretty much always cool and a bit wet!

Hi Penny, I watch many shows from the UK and always love that there are places to walk not far from home. I’m enjoying the walking challenge and I enjoy walking through a park near where we live. x
