Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!- June 20

June 21, 2024

Welcome to the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot! a weekly link up which I’m delighted to be joining as a co-host in 2024.

Each week, I’ll be joining Marsha, from Marsha in the Middle, Melynda, from Scratch Made Food for Hungry People, and Lisa, from Boondock Ramblings, so please take the time to visit the other co-hosts as well as two or three of those who have linked!

If you would like to be a co-host come join us. It’s a great way to meet other bloggers.

Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot! – June 20

This week I made time for some self-care and auditing my wardrobe. I used to have gel nails for quite some time but took a break as my nails were soft, flaky and had some ugly fungal infection. After religiously treating my nails they are now looking much better. I’ve also been including some Collagen/Protein powder in my daily smoother and I do believe my nails are stronger for it. I took some time out go give myself an at home manicure and pedicure. It can be quite relaxing really.

My husband and I also took time to audit our wardrobes and took advantage of the June sales. I’ll be sharing what I bought in my Living Well This Week Post, next Wednesday.

The latest from the WLWA50 blog

A very busy week for blogging for me.

First up was the Style Imitating Art Fashion Challenge which I recently discovered. Each fortnight one of the curators selects a piece of art and challenges us to use our creativity pairing fashion with art. It is a great way to discover artists and also to see what you have in your wardrobe. This prompt was ‘The Basket of Flowers’ by Frederick Carl Frieseke and American Impressionist artist who left the U.S. to live in France. Here is my contribution to the challenge, Style Imitating Art Fashion Challenge – “The Basket of Flowers”

This week, I shared my Living Well This Week post at the #WWWhimsy link up. You can read this week’s post here: Living Well this week – June 19 . but my highlight of the week was running and completing a 35km event, a distance I haven’t run for a couple of years so I was so proud of my running buddy and I.

I also published a new episode on the Women Living Well After 50 Podcast. This week I interviewed Dr Jane Foster and we discussed how we can build Emotional Resiliences to reduce Stress and her new book “It’s In Your Hands – Your Steering Wheel, Your Choice”. You can find the link here.

It’s also time for What’s On Your Bookshelf? You might like to see what I’ve been reading and also link up or leave me a comment with your reviews. You can read my reviews in my post, What’s On Your Bookshelf? – June 2024

The Tell Us About prompt for June was suggested by Marsha from Marsha in the Middle. The prompt was ‘Beauty’ and it was great to read everyone’s take. In my post I put the focus on how we can find inner beauty and also the beauty around us. Tell Us About….Beauty

I’ve linked these posts to this week’s link up so hope you enjoy reading them.

Wishing you a happy and healthy week, it’s now time for the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!

You have had a busy week, Sue! I used to do acrylic then gel nails, too. My nails are naturally thin and peel easily. They would actually peel off the back of the acrylic nail! So, I go au naturel! I do get pedicures which never seem to have the same issue.

Have a fabulous weekend, my friend!

Hi Marsha, I’m so happy with my nails now. It was tough not being able to paint them but they are now stronger than ever. I might treat myself to a normal manicure and pedicure before we go away in July. Although I love gel nails and they always look good, my nails just can’t take them anymore. x

Happy Friday, Sue! I’ve been auditing my wardrobe slowly but surely and I need to do the same with my hubby’s. He’s not too excited about the prospect, but I’m going to suggest that we “audit it” – that’s brilliant! As always, thanks for hosting us all at this fun link up! We’re sharing #49, #50 and $51 today. Wishing you a lovely weekend ahead!

Hi Laura, my husband started the process himself. He has lost weight so really didn’t have any clothes that fit well. It was out of necessity he did his wardrobe audit. Audit is a good description I think and would appeal to males rather than saying let’s take a look at the wardrobe. xx
