Week 4 #my25daycountdowntoahappychristmas

Well I made it! I completed Week 4 #my25daycountdowntoahappychristmas and I have to say that this challenge certainly helped reduce the stress leading up to Christmas. I managed to complete all of the prompts except my WIP list of 5 things that make me happy and which I want to commit to in 2019. That will need some thought but I’ve made a start!

Thank you to all of you who have followed #my25daycountdowntoahappychristmas.

A big shout out to Debbie Harris from Deb’s World who participated each day with me. I always looked forward to her interpretation of the prompts and she inspired me many times.

Thank you also to Donna Connolly from Retirement Reflections who always left me an encouraging comment on each post.

Day 22 – Include 5 mini meditations during your day

It is so easy in these last few days to let the pressures build up. Today, I made sure that several times throughout the day, I stopped and took a moment to breathe and be present in the moment to clear my mind. I started my day with a quiet coffee in my favourite Christmas mug.

Day 23 – Create new memories

This Christmas was the last family get together at our home. We will be selling my MIL’s home, where we live and won’t be able to host future Christmas lunches. Although a bitter/sweet time, we also created new memories with the addition of my gorgeous grandson, Elliot who is 7 months old.

Day 24 – Share a moment with a special person in your life

My husband is my greatest supporter and we make a wonderful team. As we were hosting two lunches this year, our special Christmas Eve dinner was put on hold. Although, it was a busy time, we still found time to exchange gifts and take a moment to appreciate our special relationship. My husband is difficult to buy for so I decided that I would make part of his gift – some of my Mini Christmas Pudding Truffles and my homemade, Chocolate Mocha Ice Cream.

Day 25 – Celebrate You!

Today was a day to celebrate ME! I’ve prepared and planned for two Christmas events and today was such a lovely day. We spend so much time thinking of others that it was good for me to take a moment and actually feel good about myself and the person I am.

May I take this opportunity to thank you all for the wonderful support you give to me and Sizzling Towards 60 & Beyond. I wish you and your family a very Happy and Healthy New Year and look forward to more ‘sizzling’ and ‘thriving’ with you in 2019!

Hi Sue, sorry I wimped out on the challenge, although I did greatly enjoy following your Instagram posts. I can honestly say that this was one of the best Christmases in years, and entirely stress-free. We had some good quality time with our daughter and all of our festivities unfolded almost effortlessly. Never, ever, has that happened. Maybe it’s all that good karma you are sending into the universe. Happy New Year!

HI Suzanne, it was a busy time of year but I’m pleased you enjoyed following along and it really is something we can do any time of the year. I’m so pleased you had a wonderful Christmas and I felt the same about ours. So lovely for you to have time with your daughter. I know I loved having the time with my family. I wish you a very Happy New Year to you and your family and thank you for your support of my blog. Enjoy xx

It looks like you made some lovely Christmas memories, Sue. The table looks very elegant, and what a gorgeous photo of your beautiful grandchildren. I so enjoyed catching up with you on Christmas Eve.
I loved your advent calendar series, reminding me of what is really important at Christmas Time.

Thank you Toni. I didn’t expect everyone to follow each day but at least if they could take away one thing to help them lessen the stress and increase their happiness then I would feel it was a success. It was so lovely to catch up with you and I wish you and Jon a very Happy 2019! xx

Oh, how I wanted to participate in this count down. Hope you will do it again next year and that I can join you! So thrilled to see a photo of your darling grandboys! They are just precious, Sue. I know you are so proud of them and love being with them every chance you get.

Hi Leslie, you had enough to do with your Mum and it is hard at this time of year to keep up with everything. My grandsons are certainly my pride and joy. Elliot is now 7 months old and Ethan is off to school in January, I can’t believe it! Happy New Year, my friend and look forward to linking up more in 2019. xx

Hi, Sue – This series was very inspiring and thought-provoking for me. Thank you for so openly sharing it with all of us. As Deb Harris mentioned, this series was much more rewarding than the typical “Chocolate Advent Calendar” (and that’s saying a lot as I adore chocolate)! Your Christmas Pudding Truffles and homemade, Chocolate Mocha Ice Cream sound amazing. Your husband is one lucky guy!!
Wishing you a wonderful 2019 ahead!

Thank you Donna for your continuing support and friendship. If you visit one day, I will make the truffles and ice cream for you! Happy New Year and may 2019 be filled with health and happiness. xx

Thanks so much for the shoutout and the challenge Sue! I really enjoyed finding each day’s prompts and wondering how to interpret them. Your photos have been great to see each day and I just love the one of your grandsons under the tree, so adorable. Thanks for all your support during the year, it’s been so good to connect with you. Wishing you a happy and healthy 2019 and hoping we can maybe meet up, as we’re planning a trip to Brisbane in May sometime. xx

It was good to have someone take part with me Deb. I’m going to make it an annual event so maybe next year I will advise people a little earlier and more will join in. Looking forward to May! xx
