Twodeck Brand combines comfy footwear and philanthropy

Summer in Australia is hot and humid so finding a comfortable shoe or sandal to wear especially if travelling can be difficult.  Feet get hot and sweaty and by the end of a day of sightseeing or just running around doing errands, can result in sore feet, blisters and bad moods because we are wearing uncomfortable shoes.

Recently, I was sent two pairs of sandals for Mike and I to try and to give our opinions. I’ve given product reviews before including fashion and shoes.  So why should these sandals be any different?

TD001 by Twodeck Brand

Twodeck

TD001 is a relatively newcomer to the scene but what I was most impressed with was not only the comfortable sandal but the philosophy of the owner Mike Todd and his #walkthesamepath program.

An avid reader, Mike and his team at TwoDeck Brand are proud supporters of Room to Read Australia, a charity that focuses on children’s literacy and gender equality in education. Working in collaboration with communities and local governments in Asia and Africa, Room to Read Australia has a vision where all children can reach their full potential through quality education.   As Mike says:

My ambitious goal is to sell one million pairs of sandals and donate five million books delivered to Room to Read Australia in the next seven years.

The  TD001 is a sandal based on the standard issue sandal of the British Navy and are available in black and natural leather for men, and blue, black, green, red, yellow and natural leather for women.

I love colour so I chose Red, which went perfectly with my dress for the Festive Season, and Mike, being more conservative chose the Natural colour.

Twodeck

When I first saw the sandals, I wasn’t sure that they would be comfortable and I have to admit the design was different to my idea of a sandal.  However….when I put them on it was a different story. This ‘one style fits all’ sandal is very comfortable with a design to allow my feet to ‘breathe’.

Manufactured in Portugal, the product is high quality leather and reasonably priced.  Launched in Australia, they will also be available in the USA and UK for their 2018 Summer.

Mike is not really a ‘fashionista’ but he was very pleased with his shoes which combined well for a casual lunch or day out.

I would recommend you consider TD001 and taking the time to look at the Twodeck brand, not only at the sandals but also their philosophy of helping others.

Very cute! I see you can order them online but I have no idea what size I’d wear 🙁 I always have to try mine on before buying them.

They were pretty spot on with the sizing but yes sometimes it is better to try them on.

Hey Grammy Dee – if you measure your foot – “heal to toe” – we will send you the correct size – and if they don’t fit when you receive – then we will ship back – no hassle – M 🙂

The look really comfy and yet still a little bit dressy for a casual shoe (certainly a much better alternative than some of the sandals/thongs I’ve seen the blokes wearing!) The red was definitely the right choice for you Sue x

Yes they are quite dressy Leanne and Mike was happy with his – which is saying something! I’m surprised I actually persuaded him to model them xx

Sorry to hear about the rain – but in truth, I wish we had some – my garden is struggling – 🙁
