Life In Full Bloom

Thursday Thought: Love Yourself Enough to Live Well & Bloom

May 29, 2025
Thursday's Thought

Happy Thursday!

I shared a post this morning in my WLWA50 Daily Exercise Facebook Group and thought, why not write a quick post and share it with you.

We are heading into the last few days of May so let’s make it count. As we think about our goals for next month, take a moment to ponder this thought…..

Love yourself enough to choose a healthy lifestyle.

Not out of guilt.

Not for the number on the scale.

Not because others are doing it.

Not because it’s a chore.

But because you deserve to feel strong, energized, and joyful—every single day. For me, I want to still be active and independent in my 80s and 90s so I choose a healthy lifestyle.

Am I 100% faithful to that all the time? No, I’m human and I enjoy gelato occasionally, social catchups, a glass of wine or maybe just doing nothing some days to rest my body. I live by the 80/20 rule and that works for me.
Small steps matter. One walk, one nourishing meal, one deep breath at a time.

When we shift our focus from “shoulds” to self-love, everything changes.

  • Eating well becomes an act of kindness.
  • Moving our bodies becomes a celebration of what they can do—not a punishment for what we ate.
  • Rest becomes sacred, not lazy.

It’s not about perfection—it’s about honoring yourself enough to choose what helps you thrive.

Living a healthy lifestyle is the ultimate form of self-respect. You’re investing in your future self—one that’s vibrant, active, and full of life.

You do what is right for you and deep down you know what that is.
Remember, You’re worth it.

So today, ask yourself: What’s one loving choice I can make for my body, mind, or spirit? Then take that step, and be proud.

This morning, I did a 40 minute strength workout followed by stretching. I’m making a birthday cake for my grandson’s birthday today and spending time with my family this afternoon.

Life is about harmony, living a tapas life as I’ve mentioned before – a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

Have a beautiful day!

I love this, Sue! I am committed to becoming a healthier me. I’ve lost the weight. Now, I need to start the exercise and muscle building portion! There’s a gym just down the way from us that I’m going to investigate whenever I get the chance! I found out I’m going to need both knees replace in the next 5-10 years, and I’m determined to change that with exercise!
