We are heading into Week 4 of the #JournalinginJuly Challenge. Have you kept going and written something each day? If you have and would like to share don’t forget to link up with Debbie from Deb’s World and I each Saturday in July.
Self Reflection Journaling
Although some of the prompts have almost stumped me throughout the process, they have made me think and I’ve surprised myself that I’ve written something for each day. This week the prompts include some self-evaluation and introspection such as writing ‘What I’m Good At…’ and also ‘What I don’t want in my life’.
What I’m Good At…
Most of us don’t like to acknowledge our successes or what we excel at so this will be an interesting and important prompt to be reflected upon. Again the ‘mean girl’ whispers in our ear that we aren’t good enough at all when in reality we all contribute to life and excel in various ways, in our own way. It is a matter of VALUING OUR OWN SELF WORTH.
Often people will see our worth but we can’t or won’t acknowledge it. If we keep putting ourselves down, criticizing ourselves or not standing up for ourselves, then we can’t blame others for treating us the same way.
We need to be proud of all that we do and not diminish the value.
What I Dont’ Want in My Life
Another important prompt this week is What I don’t want in my life. We spend so much time thinking and planning what we want but sometimes neglect to take an audit of our life in general and examine what, if anything is holding us back or doesn’t bring added value or joy to our lives. Once we do that we then need to have the COURAGE to make these changes.
Week 4 #JournalinginJuly Prompts
Here are the prompts for Week 4 which I will also share in the Sizzling Towards 60 & Beyond Facebook Group each day along with a quote that I feel is relevant to the prompt. Remember, these are your personal thoughts and reflections so you may just want to write them for yourself. Sometimes you might just add an image if that captures your thoughts. It may only be a sentence or two, or bullet points or many pages. A journal is personal so whatever you choose will be right for you.
Day 22 – I’m Good At…..
Day 23 – My Favourite Season
Day 24 – What I Don’t want in my life
Day 25 – I’m Excited About….
Day 26 – The best thing about today
Day 27 – My Favourite Movie and Why
Day 28 – A Daydream
I’m looking forward to reading your thoughts and also there are some interesting prompts this week which seem to be centred around home and my life.
Don’t forget to link up with Deb and I on Saturday and happy journaling!

Another great week coming up Sue!! Thanks for your inspiration 🙂
Thanks Deb, I can’t believe we are up to Week 4!
Great prompts Sue…the one that struck me was “What I DON’T want in my life”…I’m so done with drama. My wish is for everyone to be tolerant and accepting of differences and different lifestyles and choices. And this goes for family members, too!
That is a serious one Nancy and at the moment I have really overloaded myself so I need to definitely do this exercise. As for family members, I have a couple that I removed from my life many years ago and although sometimes I feel sad I know it was the right decision. Have a great week and I hope your wish comes true. xx
Oh what a great idea this is! Some thought-provoking prompts there x
Thanks Di – join in! x
Oh my, I’m going to have my work cut out with these prompts!
I know ‘who thought up these prompts?’ Ha! Ha! Let’s see what we come up with. xx
Hi Sue – You’re so good at keeping up with your journaling. I look forward to reading your responses to this week’s prompt #lifethisweek
Thanks Natalie, some days have been challenging more than others but it has been a good experience for me. x
Looking forward to seeing what the prompts bring up Sue – and how you handle them. It’s been very enjoyable reading the little life snippets that this series has brought with it x
Thanks BBB, it certainly has been a challenge at times but I’m learning more about myself as well. x
These are very thought-provoking prompts, Sue. Week Four already?! This challenge has gone very, very fast!
I know Donna it won’t be long until I see you! x
When I was very young I would write every day and found it quite therapeutic but haven’t thought it about it lately. It truly is important to know what you do and don’t want in your life and your prompts seem to be a great way to start again 🙂
I’m so glad you linked up at ‘My Corner of the World’ this week!
Hi Betty! I know the prompts have helped me as I haven’t really kept a journal or diary since I was a child. It has been an interesting exercise. Thanks for stopping by to comment and enjoy the rest of your week. xx
Well-done. You are almost at the end of the journalling and I wonder, will it continue for you?
Thank you for linking up for #lifethisweek. Next week’s optional prompt is 30/51 Share Your Snaps #6. 29/7/19. Hope to see you there too. Denyse.
Thanks Denyse, yes almost there and although some prompts have been more difficult than others it has provided some direction for me. I’m not sure whether I will continue or not at this stage but I’ve proven I can do it. x
Sue, your daily prompts have helped me to reconnect to the ‘process’ of journal writing and I enjoyed many introspective moments this past month. It was a good reminder to pause and evaluate, as opposed to mindlessly going through the motions of life.
Thank you Suzanne and I’m so pleased because after reading your guest post and realising you are a ‘journaling guru’ your comments mean a great deal to me. Thanks for joining in and also for being my guest. xx
