Over the last two weeks we have ticked off some items from my 31 days of self-care list, or maybe you came up with your own list.  If you didn’t get a copy you can download the list here to get you started.

Your goal for this week is to tick off 5 more things to do that are JUST FOR YOU!  Who is up for the Challenge?

Being fit, fabulous, healthier and happier doesn’t just mean working out.  It means nurturing your mind, body and soul.  That means taking time to look at these three areas of your life and ensuring that you are doing things to keep healthy and feeling fabulous.

We can all have great intentions of making changes in our lives but what is the point if we don’t actually DO anything.

5 more things to tick off your self-care list this week

We can actually tick off more than five as I’ve combined some together.  I’ve also included again some previous posts you might like to revisit so click on the images for more information on each.

1. Exercise each day and include some Yoga

Just 30 minutes of exercise each day is all we need to keep healthy and fit.  Including some Yoga will help to strengthen our body and our mind.  Any movement is good for us and good for the soul.  So start moving today!

2. Schedule your annual medical check up

Regular health checks for women

Do you have any regular medical checks that you need to schedule?  Now is the time to do it

Last month in my focus on Health & Wellness I wrote about the importance of knowing what medical checks and screening we might need, especially as we age.

3. Chill out and watch a favourite movie Plus indulge in some dark chocolate

Relaxation is so important to keep us healthy, happy and with energy to keep up with a busy lifestyle.  This week, select a film you haven’t seen or maybe revisit a favourite.  You can also indulge in some dark chocolate which is good for the soul.  Last month I wrote about Creating a Gold Class Movie Experience at home so you might want to revisit and get some ideas.

4. Watch a sunrise or sunset – take a moment to breathe

There is something special and spiritual about watching a sunrise or sunset.  Just taking time to be in the moment and experience the beauty of nature.

5. Write 5 things down that you love about YOU

Okay this is ONE YOU DEFINITELY HAVE TO DO THIS WEEK!  Until we can love ourselves we cannot experience our full potential.  So often we are critical of ourselves, so the goal this week is to start discovering what you love about YOU!  I’d love you to share your thoughts with me on this one.


How to achieve your goal?

We can all procrastinate, say ‘we don’t have the time’, say ‘we have responsibilities’ BUT you and your well-being is JUST AS IMPORTANT.  SO MAKE THE TIME!

    All great suggestions Sue, but I love the last one most because it’s not something that I don’t do on a regular basis.

    I’m big on self care and last night went to a 2 hour meditation. I’m recommitting to a meditation practice!

      Oh that sounds like heaven Carol. I’m just starting to enjoy meditation when I first started I couldn’t sit still! It certainly has it’s benefits. x

    Yesterday we had overnight company – we spent the evening on the back porch until needing blankets to keep warm! We laughed, told stories, watched the sun set and stars shine. Heart warming and relaxing!

    I do try to schedule in time for movies, massages and time out but it can be hard not to feel guilty or selfish!! I find it hard to list 5 things I love about being me but I’ll try – my smile, my creativity, my strong legs which help me run, my thoughtfulness and my enthusiasm, Thanks again Sue for sharing your thoughts with us and making us think with your great suggestions

    Good ideas… and tucking that 30 minutes of exercise can be tough, but can also be done in smaller increments. Life is so busy, yet we NEED to move. 🙂
