The results of my recent survey on Midlife and Positive Ageing are in and I’m so happy to report that from the results we are all looking forward to this new phase of life.

1. Thoughts on Midlife
I received some great, positive comments which shows we are looking forward to this phase of life. We are excited that the children have grown and we can now have the freedom to think about ourselves and what we want to do. Of course, we do feel some appreh
ension as we look to our own mortality but it is wonderful to read that we have such a positive outlook.
Some of the comments were:-
Going to be a great decade for me!
It’s good that children are adults – I can plan holidays
Enjoying every moment
Bring It On
A bit scary but I keep telling myself it’s only a number
Suddenly there are many possibilities and we have the freedom to choose what we want to do
2. What topics are you most interested in?
It seems that most of us are wanting to look after our health and fitness and also would like some motivation. I’m also hearing about wanting balance, fashion, genealogy, relationships, being an influence in our grandchildren’s lives, art, energy medicine and looking after our finances during retirement.

3. Would you like to make changes in your life?
There was a definitive answer of ‘YES’
73% of us are wanting to make some kind of change in our lives.
4. What changes would you like to make today?
Again, we are wanting to improve our health and well-being, socialise more, be involved, achieve our dreams and be happy.
5. What topics would be covered in your ideal blog about Positive Ageing & Midlife?
I loved all of the answers as they are so similar to what I want to write about. Some of the topics suggested and which I will plan for are:-
- Strength training
- Positive affirmations
- Looking our Best
- Ageing Gracefully
- Retirement Planning
- Staying fit and healthy
- Dietary needs
- Staying connected
6. What is your biggest concern about your midlife experience?
It appears that we are all concerned with health and not making the best of our lives. Some of the responses included:-
- Staying healthy
- How to combat tiredness and lack of stamina
- Not feeling good about our appearance
- Mortality of friends and family
- Bladder control
- Boredom – feeling unfulfilled and not ticking off our bucket list
- No longer being relevant
- Hormonal changes and menopause
7. What Social Media do you use most?
Well it appears that Facebook wins the day!
