Want to know why you aren’t feeling fit and fabulous?
Perhaps you are too busy being there for everyone but not taking the time to be kind to yourself?
Whatever the reason, you need to make time for YOU to nourish your mind, body and soul. Part of total well being is taking the time to nurture yourself.
You can make a start today by reading the following four inspirational quotes and be reminded of the importance of cutting yourself some slack and not being so hard on yourself.
You owe it to yourself because you deserve your kindness, respect and happiness.
Quotes to Be Kinder to Yourself
We are usually so critical of ourselves – the way we look, our unrealistic expectations of ourselves. If we can cut out the negative talk and concentrate on learning to love ourselves, our life will be happier and healthier. Why not look in the mirror and say something positive about yourself right now! Write it on a piece of paper and stick it to the mirror so you see it everyday.
Again, I come back to self-love. As I’ve written before, ‘if you can’t love and respect yourself, how can you expect others to love and respect you’. Show yourself the respect you deserve, before you demand it of others.
Worry can certainly take it’s toll and I know that I am a worrier! I have been consciously trying to overcome this and look at problems in a more rational way. Sometimes we rob ourselves of peace and happiness by letting the worries of the day fill our minds. Yoga, Meditation and Mindfulness can play a huge part in helping us find peace and in doing so, add to our own happiness as well as the happiness of others.
Making the time to nourish your mind, body and soul is so important for good health and well being – both physically and mentally. I recently, started some Morning and Evening Rituals which help me to start and end my day in a state of calmness and relaxation. You can read about how to create a daily ritual here.

I totally agree, I used to speak to terribly to myself, it was any wonder I didn’t believe I deserved happiness. Great quotes and beautiful advice!
Most of us are guilty of treating others better than ourselves. WE are learning I think Mackenzie and it helps that we all write about it. Surely we will start to accept it if everyone is singing from the same song sheet.
I fully agree with you, we need to be kinder to ourselves. We would never be as unkind to others as we are to ourselves. Time to treat ourselves with the same consideration as we do others.
Well put Margaretha we should treat ourselves as we would others (or even better).
Completely agree with you on this. I’m being gentler with myself and giving myself more space to be imperfect, which makes me less anxious I’m finding, and less stressed when things don’t go as I think they should.
That sounds great Rosemond. We do put far too much pressure on ourselves which in the end is counter-productive. Have a great week!
and Pinned these to my inspiration boards so I can see them when I feel like I’m getting too down on myself. thank you for sharing these kind words we all need to remember.
Thanks so much for pinning and my pleasure to share quotes and words that I find helpful to me.
Taking time to nurture ourselves really is important. Quite inspiring reminder today.
Thanks Carol. I’m looking forward to your new business venture. Not long now!
First of all I may need to work on my maturity because “self love” always makes me think of an alternative way to be kind to myself. More seriously this is life changing. Sometimes the most basic things have the most impact. I have realized through geographical and career changes I am always there at the end. So loving me is more important than loving any city or any job.
I love your thought ‘I am always there at the end’ it says it all really. Have a great day!
I see this so much of this even just in my mom!! The negativity is very hard to change—at least coming from me (maybe she’ll listen to you better??)

I think our Mum’s generation are hard to change in their views. They just weren’t raised with that mindset. Maybe some gentle encouragement is the way to go.
Do you ever give bad advice, Sue? I think not! These are wonderful reminders to lighten up on ourselves and take the time to care for ourselves.
