Springtime is almost upon us where I live and it is my favourite time of year. It always gives me a feeling of optimism, hope, freshness and new beginnings. Oh and of course, the latest fashion!
Nothing says spring and summer like bright, happy colours and today I’m excited to be reviewing the first of two styles from the Homyped Spring/Summer collection – Jirany.
If you don’t know much about the Homyped brand, it started in Victoria, Australia in 1969. They create anatomically designed footwear using innovative bio-mechanical features for superior support, comfort and these days…style! You can read more about the brand here (link: https://www.homyped.com.au/our-difference/).
Now I have to be honest and say that when I think of new shoes, I don’t really associate style with ‘anatomical design’. Comfort is important, but how many times have we fallen in love with a pair of shoes even though they were uncomfortable to walk in? We have all been there, to the detriment of our backs and feet!
However, with age comes wisdom – or so they say – and we now look for a style that is comfortable, but doesn’t make us feel or look like our grandmothers! I know I’m a grandmother but that doesn’t mean I can’t wear the latest styles. I’m Sizzling Towards Sixty remember!
Comfortable doesn't have to be boring!Click To TweetWhen the lovely team from Homyped approached me to review their new season collection, I first checked out the website.
Although my memory of the original styles were somewhat staid and in my opinion made for comfort more than style, over the years their shoe design and style has reached a new level – and are suitable for all ages.
After viewing their collection online, I couldn’t wait to try the Jirany sandal. It not only looked great but after slipping my foot into it when it arrived in the post, I can assure you that it is SOOO comfortable to wear.
The reason I am happy to review their product is that it is top quality, excellent value for money, looks great and my feet feel like they are walking on a cloud. I run a lot so my poor feet get a good thrashing. I need something that will keep my feeling happy.
I love wearing this brand and the ‘Jirany’ proves you can combine style and comfort AND look fabulous! Apart from the colour, I love the detailing down the bridge of the foot. The beading makes this sandal very stylish and reminds me of an Ancient Egyptian theme. Perhaps I was Cleopatra in a former life!
This style also comes in Gold Dust and Black. I think the Gold Dust would be great to dress up an outfit for a stylish Spring/Summer lunch or dinner. Sizes range from 5 – 11.
One feature I was very happy with is the adjustable strap across your toes so that you can get the perfect width fit. There is nothing worse than have a pair of shoes that don’t fit snugly and comfortably. The adjustable width makes this the perfect shoe if you have been walking or standing all day and your feet are a little swollen.
I like that the website has a ‘Foot Sizing Chart’ that you can download and print. https://www.homyped.com.au/our-difference/the-homyped-difference/
Use it to make sure you get the right size and width. This is so convenient if you are shopping online and can’t make it to a store to be fitted for the correct size. I tried the sizing chart and found that in the Homyped range I am actually a Size 7 with a C+ width size.
What is so different about Homyped?
Reading through the Homyped website, I note that their shoes have a variety of features like Customised Fitting which allows for orthotic inserts. Plus shoes in their range are multi-adjustable and provide pressure reduction… just some of the personalised options available.
Now that I’ve worn the brand again after a number of years, I’m definitely returning to the fold. I can look good but more importantly, my feet will have the added benefits of comfort and support.
Plus The ‘Jirany’ also looks great with my fresh pedicure!
I’d love to know what you think of this style.

Don’t miss my next post where I review the Murlena, a great casual shoe for walking, shopping or brunch.

They look beautiful Sue and love that colour. I agree with you – comfort is the way to go, especially with our shoes.
They are truly so comfortable Toni and the colour was what attracted me to them.
ooo these are pretty! I love the adjustable strap because my mum always struggles with finding the right width shoes for her feet that are comfortable.
Yes I know I’m like that Charlotte so the adjustable strap is a great idea.
I love this outfit. I love also your styling. You look lovely.
Oh thank you Carol! You have made my day! Perhaps I might crack the modelling market after all LOL:)))
Gorgeous colour – Just perfect for the warmer weather and so versatile – a bonus is that they are comfortable too! Win win! ?
Yes Linda I fell in love with the colour as soon as I saw it. We are heading into Summer so looking forward to wearing my new sandals!
These are adorable sandals, Sue. One of my fashion rules is I will never wear an uncomfortable shoe and these look super comfy. I’d like to have a pair in each color! I envy you approaching spring as we are looking at the end of our summer. I’m coming to Australia!
I have been wearing Homyped for years as I have arthritic feet, and
they accommodate weird bone growth without rubbing.
Hi Marilyn! Thanks for commenting. I used to wear Homypeds but I especially love their latest range. I think they would appeal to a wider audience and I loved the colour of my sandals. They are so comfortable to wear – I’m back in the fold!
You look fantastic Sue – and you’re right, the colour of those shoes is what really sells them (the comfort is an added bonus!)
Thanks Leanne! My husband says I’ve never looked better which is lovely to hear especially with 60 looming next year! I love the colour it just says Spring is here!
Not heard of this brand but sounds really great. I am increasingly more bothered about shoes being comfortable & suitable for lots of walking than anything else.
They are an Australian brand and I’m not sure they sell overseas. They are just so comfortable I can’t explain it adequately. Like you I want comfort first but I also love that they are stylish as well. Best of both worlds!
I can only wear flats. I usually wear comfortable.
Janice
I’m the same Janice. I had to wear heels for the first time in quite a while recently. It was for a wedding and I swear every woman there was complaining about having to balance in the heels and also how our feet were killing us by the end of the night LOL:)
Sue, you look stunning with great fashion sense. The Homeypeds are so nice. You are right in recent years they have caught up with stylish fashion shoes that are so comfortable. The width adjustment is a foot saver.
Kathleen
Thank you Kathleen I was pleasantly surprised with how stylish they have become.
I am so glad shoe companies are putting pretty with comfortable these days! Just because our feet may need a little extra love doesn’t mean we have to look the part! ? And these do look great with your pedi!
I know Wendy – we want comfort but at the same time I do like a little style. I found these sandals had both! Thanks for stopping by.
