This week’s prompt for Sunday Stills is Orange . Terri from Second Wind Leisure hosts Sunday Stills each week with a prompt. So I thought I would give it a try. I’m not sure if this will be a weekly thing for me as I’m not a great photographer but if the prompt fits I’ll do it!This week Hugh from Hug’s Views and News is the host! When I saw the prompt it immediately reminded me of my very good friend, Debbie Harries from Deb’s World. Deb’s favourite colour is orange and you will get the idea if you look at her website and the clothes she wears.
If you want to stand out from the crowd – wear orange!
I also love orange because it makes me feel happy. Different colours have different meanings so I decided to research the meaning of ‘Orange”.
The Meaning of the Colour Orange
- Joy and Creativity, vibrant and flamboyant are all words used when researching the meaning of the word.
- Orange promotes general well-being and emotional energy, compassion, passion and warmth.
- If feeling down, Orange will lift your spirits and help us overcome disappointments
- Studies show that orange can create physical effects such as increasing hunger, socialization, activity, mental activity, oxygen supply to the brain.
Orange represents the Sacral chakra or Svadhisthana. This is the second of the seven primary chakras and deals with pleasure and emotionality.
It is located about three inches below the navel and can encompass the sexual organs. The orange colour of the Sacral chakra gives us hints of its creative, sensual nature
Orange is also found in fruits, vegetables, nature and Halloween. Autumn leaves, represent the changing of the season and so Orange can be perceived as a colour of transition.
