My Mother's Day Morning Tradition

My Mother's Day Morning Tradition

Mother’s Day is the one day when most Mums will hopefully be able to sleep in and perhaps be  spoilt and appreciated by her children with breakfast in bed.

As my children are adults and my daughter is also a Mum, breakfast in bed hasn’t really happened for me in a long time.  Although, I do remember when they were little and breakfast in bed was the order of the day, complete with gifts which had been made or purchased at the school fete.  I still have some of them today.

However, I do have other ways which I celebrate the morning which I would love to share with you.

As I mentioned, my daughter Rachel is a Mum so it is only fair that she gets some attention as well.  I now usually spend the morning with my family and then they are free to do as they wish and Rachel can be spoilt by my darling grandson, Ethan.

I’m actually not big on gifts and last year I wrote a post What is the Best Mother’s Day Gift You Can Give?  Can you guess what it would be?  Perhaps you should read the post to find out.

My Mother’s Day Morning Tradition

The most important thing that I do each Mother’s Day is run in the Mother’s Day Classic Run. I run with my daughter and we participate in memory of my dear Mum (Rachel’s Nan), who passed away from breast cancer 30 years ago.

After the run I enjoy a relaxing hot shower – nothing better is there?

I then take half an hour to rest in bed in my comfy pj’s with a good book.  I have back problems so a good mattress is vital for me.  Making sure I’m comfortable in bed is important and a mattress such as Leesa,  is a great mattress option

Finally, I enjoy a lovely brunch with my family and then we go our separate ways to enjoy the rest of the day.

My Mother's Day Morning Tradition

So that is my Mother’s Day morning tradition – do you have one?

Mother’s Day is an opportunity to say thank you to that extra special lady in your life and probably the only person who truly loves you unconditionally.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mums, Step-Mums, Foster Mums, Grandmums!

Let’s Keep Sizzling!

Sounds like an absolutely perfect Mother’s Day, Sue!
My Mother’s Days differ significantly over time. This year, my mom is visiting for the week so I will luxuriate in mother-daughter time. I will also take this opportunity to spoil her. High Tea and Garden Tours are already planned for the day.
    Enjoy this special day!

Your Mother’s Day sounds perfect also Donna and I envy you having your Mum to spend it with. Never mind, I spend the morning with my daughter and we remember my Mum and her Nan in the best way we can by running. Have a beautiful Mother’s Day especially with your Mum x

I’m like you Sue, I run in the Mothers Day classic in Canberra every year, usually with my daughter and son in law, but this year I’m running on my own. I’ve been training hard so am hoping to do a better time than recent years. I use it as a competition with myself and enjoy the atmosphere!! We then go for brunch after I’ve showered and relaxed a bit. My daughter in U.K. always contacts me and my daughter in Brisbane also phones to say hello. Enjoy your day ?

That’s a healthy approach to mother’s day.My mother’s day celebration involves in cosying up in the bed till I am ready, which is followed by brunch and then we go for a movie.Meet up family friends for a grand dinner.

I’m pretty lucky – hubster brings me a coffee in bed most mornings, not just on Mother’s Day!
