Winter is approaching and we start to cover up. That doesn’t mean that we should slacken off with beauty routine. Even though we are wearing longer sleeves and pants our skin still needs pampering. Also, the cool winter air can be very drying not to mention working in airconditioning for 8 or more hours per day.
The most important beauty product to me is Moisturizer, especially as we age. Hopefully you have used a moisturizer as part of your normal beauty routine, however if you haven’t all is not lost. Start now – morning and evening!
Obviously you get what you pay for, however any moisturizer is better than none at all as long as you use it! It’s no good investing in an expensive moisturizer to just look at the pretty packaging.
Also invest in an exfoliating brush or glove and face and body scrub.
For your face, cleanse thoroughly and apply the moisturizer and don’t forget your neck and decolletage. Once or twice a week, use a facial scrub to remove the dead skin cells and then apply a moisturizing mask.
For your body, hop in the shower and use a body scrub to exfoliate (removing dead skin cells). Your skin will feel tingling and alive. After the shower apply the moisturizer while your skin is slightly damp as this helps absorption.
Don’t forget your hands and feet! Exfoliate and then apply hand and foot cream. If you want a real treat apply liberally to hands and feet and wear gloves and socks until the cream has been absorbed. Overnight is best, although perhaps not a good look if you don’t sleep alone!
Continue this routine through winter and you will be showing off glowing skin when the warmer weather arrives.
Let’s Sizzle!

Hi there friends, how is the whole thing, and what you want
to say regarding this post, in my view its genuinely awesome designed for me.
I make a scrub for my feet with brown sugar and a few drops of olive oil. It works amazingly!!! My favorite moisturizer is by Out of Africa and it’s Raw wild crafted Shea Butter. I buy the vanilla scented one and it literally has two ingredients… raw unrefined shea butter and vanilla bean oil. It smells amazing to me. People pass me in stores and stop me to ask what my purfum is lol….it’s simply my moisturizer.
I loved this post….it is vital to moisturize!!!!
Hi Jenna thanks for the comment and your scrub sounds great! I must try it especially as it wouldn’t be expensive. Vanilla is my favourite scent. We are on the same page!
It is such a classic scent. You really can’t go wrong and then when u add the rich smell of shea butter to it….it’s nice 😉
I couldn’t agree more!
Congrats on also getting featured via DebbieinShape #blogging #shoutoutsaturday
Thanks Joanne for the good wishes. I was pretty excited actually about being featured.
I have to make time to moisturize my hands and feet in the winter. Thanks for sharing at the This Is How We Roll Link Party on Organized 31.
Yes I know Susan, I’m the same. When I worked, I used to set my phone alarm to make sure I moisturized. I had all the ladies in the office doing the same thing LOL:) thanks for the comment.
I just started an after-shower moisturising routine, and it always gets me that I have to give it a bit of time to soak in before I can do anything else. Otherwise my things get all oily haha.
Hi Tammi, yes I know what you mean. It is the best time to moisturize though as your pores are open after the shower and will absorb the moisture. Sometimes being a woman is hard work! LOL 🙂 Thanks for the comment
I couldn’t agree more! I just wish I had been better at moisturizing when I was younger! Now, I keep a bottle of moisturizer on the ledge of my tub so I’m reminded! Thanks for the tips and for linking up at Inspire Me Mondays!
I know Bridget. I have always been good at face moisturizer but am not so diligent with hands. Thanks for your comments and the opportunity to linkup
Winters are so dry here that one has to moisturize. I remember my first experience was the worst. My skin got so dry that my hands open. Quite painful. 🙁
Great tips, Sue!
Thanks Debbie! That sounds very painful so don’t forget your moisturizer! 🙂
