March Blog & Podcast Wrap

April 1, 2022

It’s the first of April and I think this year in particular there won’t be too many people playing April Fool’s Jokes, do you? April is a birthday month as my daughter, grandson and running friend celebrate their special days. April is a beautiful time where I live on the Gold Coast. The mornings and evenings are crisp and cool and the days are still warm and sunny (most of the time).

A new month brings new opportunities and new beginnings but let’s close out and review March before we start the new month.

Do you take time to review your month? It’s amazing sometimes to see what you’ve actually done with your time. Here’s what I got up to.

On the Blog

Looking back I wrote quite a few posts during March about a variety of topics.

I started the month in the kitchen for What’s On Your Plate? Challenge? My contribution was an easy 3 course dinner menu that I had made for my darling for Valentine’s Day (although we don’t actually celebrate it). You can find the recipes in my blog post An easy 3 course dinner menu to impress.

We celebrated International Women’s Day and I wrote about #BreaktheBias of Ageing and Stereotypes IWD 2022

For our What’s On Your Bookshelf? Link Up I thought I was pretty clever tying this in with theme of International Women’s Day. As our online bookclub has finally finished the complete works of the Bronte Sisters, I highlighted How Charlotte Bronte used writing the #breakthebias before it was a hashtag.

International Day of Happiness put the focus on ‘Choose to Help’ this year, so I shared some information on what International Day of Happiness is and how we can not only help others but ourselves. ‘Choose to help’ on International Day of Happiness. I also signed up for the free 10 day Action of Happiness. Each day I received an email with a prompt to find joy or happiness for that day. I’ll be sharing some of these ideas in future blogs.

I reviewed my WOTY ‘BE’ for our WOTY monthly link up and was happy to report that I am still ticking the box of living with the focus on my Word of the Year. You can read the many ways I was ‘BE-ing’ in my post BE-ing March WOTY Update

I started a health and wellness challenge with some friends. We workout together twice a week and decided to make some personal goals around our health and wellness for 30 days. I’m hoping we continue as it really helps to stay on track. This prompted me to resume Wellness Wednesdays on the blog and the first post asked a question: How are you taking control of your healthy and well-being?

On the Podcast

Are you a limb dweller or a trunk dweller? Recognising who you are to live a fulfilled life was a fabulous podcast with my guest Sandy Stamato. This episode really resonated with many of you.

In the Micro Mondays episodes I discussed:

Overcoming guilt when life is going well for you

5 strategies to drop the labels and start living life your way

I hope that you enjoy reading my thoughts on ways we can live well and enjoy life. What was your favourite post for the month?

What will April hold? I’m not sure but I do know that my goal is to make each day count and enjoy living life my way.

Have a fabulous April!

You are so clever Sue with your posts and podcast! Your WOYBS post was very creative as you tied in our Bronte books from bookclub so well. I also really enjoyed the Limb dweller podcast and found Sandy to be very interesting and easy to follow. Thanks also for resuming your Wellness Wednesdays, they are always full of useful information. Wishing you a great month ahead and yes to the challenge continuing!

Hi, Sue – It’s very difficult for me to choose my favourite publication of yours from March. I gained something new from each of them. One that did stuck out was your Limb Dwelker Podcast. You are an exceptional interviewer!

Back again…limb dweller. I think I am probably somewhere between the trunk and the outer most limbs. For example, I was a librarian for 25+ years – but changed schools, grade levels and while doing that job, also hosted a decade-long TV show, waitressed, taught community college classes, summer school, worked at a vet clinic, cared for the elderly, etc. Ha!!
I absolutely think you are a limb dweller. You have your fingers in so many exciting pots and are living your best life. Big hugs!!

Hi Leslie! Yes I do believe I’m a limb dweller and wow! I didn’t know you hosted a TV show how impressive! What was the TV Show? I can just see you would be perfect for that. Big hugs back to you. x
