It’s time for another Tell Us About…. , a link up hosted by some lovely ladies (including me) from all over the world. You can see who they are at the end of the post and I encourage you to visit their blogs and check out what they have written for this month’s prompt.
We would love you to join in so at the end of the post you can find the link and also the prompts for the coming months. It would be great for you to link up with us and participate in the Tell Us About Link Up. I’ve put some details below for when the link up opens and dates for the diary.
Each month one of the members selects a topic/prompt and this month it is Leslie from Once Upon A Time, Happily Ever After who has selected ‘Tell Us About….Something New‘. Leslie’s brief to us was Ways to Show Love, Ways I Show Love, Showing Love.
In keeping with my WOTY – Bloom, I decided to approach the prompt by looking at why we should show love to ourselves and in particular our bodies in order to thrive in every season. We readily give our love to others but often neglect giving the love, care and attention to ourselves.
Love Your Body, Nourish Your Life: Thriving in Every Season

Loving and nourishing our bodies isn’t just about looking good—it’s about feeling strong, vibrant, and capable at every stage of life. Our bodies are the foundation of everything we do, from exploring new places to embracing new experiences and connecting with the people we love. When we fuel ourselves with nutritious food, move in ways that bring us joy, and prioritize rest, we support our energy, confidence, and overall well-being. By treating our bodies with kindness and care, we cultivate self-respect and resilience, allowing us to live life in full bloom—thriving, not just surviving.
Our bodies are our lifelong companions, carrying us through every season of life. By nourishing ourselves with wholesome foods, joyful movement, rest, and self-care, we show gratitude for all that our bodies do. When we shift our focus from how we look to how we feel, we cultivate a deep sense of self-love and appreciation.
- Move with Joy – Find movement you love, whether it’s walking, yoga, dancing, or strength training. Exercise should be enjoyable, not a chore.
- Fuel Your Body Well – Nourish yourself with whole, nutrient-dense foods that support energy, vitality, and longevity.
- Prioritize Rest & Recovery – Quality sleep and relaxation are just as important as staying active. Listen to your body’s need for rest.
- Celebrate What Your Body Can Do – Focus on strength, flexibility, and endurance rather than appearance. Your body is amazing!
- Hydrate & Glow – Staying hydrated keeps your skin radiant, joints lubricated, and energy levels high.
- Tune Into Your Body’s Needs – Regular check-ups, mindful eating, and self-care routines help you stay in tune with your well-being.
- Embrace Body Confidence – Self-love starts with appreciation. Treat yourself with kindness and gratitude for all your body does.
- Stay Curious & Keep Learning – Explore new ways to move, eat, and care for yourself as you age. Growth is a lifelong journey.
Next Level Love – Discovering the shadows that hold us back
Recently I interviewed Junie Moon, CEO of Midlife Love Out Loud, Global Love Mentor, Shadow Work® Facilitator, Women’s Empowerment Leader and host of the Midlife Love Out Loud podcast.
During the interview we discussed:
- What Next Level Love is and why we struggle to achieve it
- Why so many women self-sabotage and what we can do
- Breaking the painful patterns
- The 4 Love Shadows – what they are and why it is important to know what they are
- Take Junie’s 2 minute quiz to discover your Love Avatar
You can listen to the podcast HERE
Let’s cherish our bodies, not just for what they were in the past, but for their strength, resilience, and beauty today. Because when we care for ourselves with kindness and intention, we don’t just live—we thrive. 🌸✨
How will you show love to your body, mind and spirit today?

Hi, Sue – I like how you frame self-care as an act of love and gratitude rather than a chore. Your practical tips, from joyful movement to embracing body confidence, serve as a wonderful reminder that thriving is about how we feel, not just how we look. Thank you for this inspiring and thoughtful post. BTW- I am loving the vacation pics from you and Mike. Enjoy!
This is a great reminder Sue and one we often neglect when talking about love. I agree with Donna’s comments ther
Sorry Sue, my comment was published before I finished it! I agree with Donna’s comments and think you’ve come at this theme from a brilliant and creative way. Hope your trip away is going well. xx
This really made me think, Sue. I’ve been avoiding exercise because I don’t like what I do. I really do need to go out and find an activity I love and that makes me happy. I felt that way with aerobics back in the 80s and 90s. I’m going to listen to that podcast again!

I love this take. I think we usually forget ourselves when it comes to showing love. I also need to work on my sleep. I’m needing less sleep so been making use of the time quite happily but I podcast said I still needed 7-8 hours (to reducing ageing and dementia risks…ignore if I’ve muddled all that up, people) so want to start getting back into my previous habits….#TellUsAbout
This all makes lots of sense. we only have one body, so looking after it is a top priority. Happy holidays.
Such wisdom. I need to remind myself to love my body as it is now. This broken foot still has me limping and hurting and very uncertain on my feet. But I need to celebrate what I am still able to do and quit focusing on what I can’t do…YET. Thank you for the reminder to celebrate what my body can do!!
It’s wonderful that you chose to focus on showing love to ourselves! I like to think I do this most of the time, with nourishing vegan food and daily gentle yoga but at the moment, I feel pretty awful every time I wake up in the morning. I know it’s all to do with hormones giving me achy joints and I need to get more movement in during the day. I have this terrible habit of spending hours in front of the computer!
Such a lovely, positive post that definitely gave me food for thought, Sue!
Hugs
Suzy xx
