#JunkFreeInJune Are you up for the challenge?

#JunkFreeInJune

I’m going ‘JunkFreeInJune’ and I’m challenging you to do the same! Keep reading because it may be more than what you think…..

When I was thinking of a theme for the month, I was stumped, firstly finding words that started with ‘J’ but also deciding on content for a relevant theme. Browsing the internet, I came a across an old website Junk Free June. It was about not eating junk food for June and raising funds for cancer research.

Eureka! I had my theme for the month however, I’m extending the idea and putting my own twist on the challenge.

The Month of June is a good time to take stock of how our year is progressing and if we are moving towards making our dreams a reality.  One of my words for the year was ‘Evolve’ however that can’t happen if I get bogged down with clutter in my mind, body and environment.

Too often life gets in the way and we find ourselves overwhelmed and dragged down by the clutter and junk in our lives.  We forget our healthy eating, we forget to set boundaries and have the courage to say ‘no’ when we need to and we surround ourselves with possession which we don’t really need.

#JunkFreeInJune

#JunkFreeInJune is not only accepting the challenge of eating healthy food and saying ‘no’ to junk food, but looking at life as a whole and removing junk from our minds, body and also physical clutter that we surround ourselves with.

I will be having guest contributors with their thoughts on what #JunkFreeInJune means for them and hopefully you will be inspired to make some major changes for a happier, healthier and simpler lifestyle.

There are so many ways we can make changes during this challenge and I’ve come up with 30 days of ideas to get you started. From the obvious eating healthier to recycling, looking at finances and removing the clutter from your life. Mary Kondo on sterioids!

Download the #JunkFreeInJune Calendar HERE and also add your own ideas.

So what do you think? Will you join me for #JunkFreeInJune and take the challenge of changing your life to a simpler yet more effective and happier lifestyle?

I wondered what you were going to come up with for June! Junk-free sounds fabulous. I could do with a little mental decluttering…

    • Reply Sue Loncaric May 30, 2019 at 09:09

Hi Jo! I’m kind of stuck with themes at the moment LOL:) ‘J’ was a little challenging but I came up with something worthwhile. Not sure about July though – getting ahead of myself! We can all do with some mental decluttering I agree! Have a great day and here’s to #JunkFreeInJune x

Hi Sue – Junk-free June sounds great! I’ve been recycling every day and decluttering bit by bit. I look forward to reading your guest contributors’ posts. #lovinlifelinky

Hi Natalie, yes I’m looking forward to the guest contributor’s posts also. Have a great week! x

Hi Sue, I like your twist on the June challenge. I really liked #microstepping in May and I was consistent with my daily push ups. This morning I was thinking how I would continue with my daily pushups for June. I also wrote on my June list, I was going to take the micro-stepping concept further by spending 15 minutes a day purging/clearing out some of my physical stuff. 15 minutes a day is doable and it adds up. I look forward to reading the contributions and learning more:)

Hi Erica! I’m doing a pushup challenge in July to highlight Mental Health Awareness. 15 minutes is just the right amount of time, I think. Not too long to get bored but short enough to fit into a day. Good luck! xx

      • Reply Erica/Erika June 1, 2019 at 11:22

Hi Sue, The pushup challenge in July sounds extra challenging. Do you mean you are planning to do pushups for the entire 15 minutes? That is a very long time. My 2 sets of 12 a day take likely about 2 minutes. You are very fit and will complete your goal! 🙂

        • Reply Sue Loncaric June 5, 2019 at 06:10

Hi Erica no not 15 minutes LOL:) Just 45 per day but they can be spread out over the day. I meant that 15 minutes is a good time frame to achieve things. It is long enough to get something done but not too long that you just give up. Have a great day and maybe you can join me in the Push Up Challenge in July xx

I love your junk free idea. Declutteting junk is an ongoing thing for me . I do believe the first step is to remove the junk from your mindset then hopefully the rest will follow, not always easy but very achievable if you set your mind to it and take one day at a time.
I look forward to your Junk Free June

    • Reply Sue Loncaric May 31, 2019 at 10:17

I agree, Jen. Our mindset can affect all areas of our lives. If we have that right we are well on the way to living the best life we can. xx

I love the idea and realise that ‘junk’ is very subjective so there’s flexibility there, but I’m in a bit of a meh place at the moment and even the smallest ‘challenge’ feels a bit overwhelming. I’ll give it some thought though.

    • Reply Sue Loncaric May 31, 2019 at 10:17

Hi Deb, we all get that way sometimes so hopefully you might find some inspiration during the month. x

  • Reply Debbie Harris May 30, 2019 at 12:56

Hi Sue, I love the idea for June and the calendar is fabulous! My trouble is I’ll be travelling most of the month so can’t really make any promises about anything much and I’m kind of looking forward to that a bit! I’m not even sure if I’ll blog much during the month. I also can’t believe the months are flying by so quickly. Hopefully we can catch up when I’m up north.

    • Reply Sue Loncaric May 31, 2019 at 10:16

Thanks Deb! These ideas come at the last moment which for someone like me can be traumatic as i like to be organised and scheduled LOL:) I hope you enjoy your trip and plan to catch up if you have time. xx

Hi! What a great idea – I’m in! I’m planning to try new keto recipes, especially in baking. Greetings from sunny Europe!

    • Reply Sue Loncaric May 31, 2019 at 10:13

Hi Jo hope you enjoy Europe and I’d be interested in those baking recipes. x

Your post reflects my current attitude completely. It is summer in Florida and my favorite time to de-clutter. I started with my closet last week and will continue on into the pantry, craft closet, etc. I am even thinking of taking everything out of my kitchen cabinets and resorting only the things we use. Wish me luck.

    • Reply Sue Loncaric May 31, 2019 at 10:13

Hi Suzanne it can be contagious can’t it? You start in one place and then want to keep going! Good luck and I’m sure you will feel a great sense of satisfaction when you have finished. x

J for Junk is a good one, Sue! I could do with a good brain declutter. There’s lots of useless junk in there swirling around that needs to go! 🙂 #TeamLovinLife

    • Reply Sue Loncaric May 31, 2019 at 10:12

Hi Min, I agree and it was luck that I stumbled across the theme which I expanded upon. x

  • Reply Kerrie May 31, 2019 at 20:29

What an amazing idea!! So much “junk” to clear out around here that’s for sure!!

    • Reply Sue Loncaric June 5, 2019 at 06:09

Thanks Kerrie, we can all use some decluttering in different areas of our lives can’t we? Thanks for stopping by and hope you are having a fabulous week. x

Hi Sue – really looking forward to where you’re going to go with this – I don’t have much physcial junk, but definitely some mental and dietary junk that could be improved upon – so I’ll be checking in regularly through June xx

    • Reply Sue Loncaric June 5, 2019 at 06:26

Thanks Leanne, I think looking at all areas of our lives will hopefully remind readers that there is always some area we can improve upon and declutter. x

  • Reply Miriam June 1, 2019 at 12:40

Sue, what an absolutely fabulous theme for the month ahead. Junk free in all areas, my in box, my eating habits … so many decluttering possibilities. It’s kinda like a spring clean in winter. I love it! Count me in. xx

    • Reply Sue Loncaric June 5, 2019 at 06:25

Hi Miriam, I’m so pleased you are excited by the theme. I like the idea of looking at all areas of our lives rather than just the healthy eating aspect, although that is important. Spring Cleaning in Winter – I love it! Great to have you onboard. xx

  • Reply Candi Randolph June 1, 2019 at 19:55

I love this theme, Sue! You’re right, there is so much more to being ‘junk free’ than just the snacks we eat. It’s going to be an interesting month!

    • Reply Sue Loncaric June 5, 2019 at 06:23

Thanks Candi, I hope you enjoy the theme for the month and perhaps pick up a tip or two along the way. x

I’m in! After the past two months of utter craziness, I need to reclaim my life and my peace back. This is a great way to start!
No – that’s step TWO. I started with letting myself take the afternoon off today. Once I got home from the writing workshop I was scheduled to give, I was going to work on my weekly newsletter that usually goes out on Saturday. I went – NOPE. I was wiped out from the last two months of constant motion and took a nap instead. The newsletter will go out tomorrow and I dare say the world won’t stop spinning. Then I’ll join you in de-junking my life!

    • Reply Sue Loncaric June 10, 2019 at 07:05

Hi Trisha as long as you are in it is never too late! Good for you in taking the time out instead of rushing to do the newsletter. Sometimes we put unnecessary pressure on ourselves and you are right – ‘the world doesn’t stop spinning’ but you and your body feel refreshed. Enjoy #JunkFreeInJune with me and thanks for stopping by. xx
