Jump Back Up In July – Action for Happiness

Each month I share the Action for Happiness calendar which is always based on a theme. I’m late posting July’s because I’ve not been well for two weeks with a viral infection. It really has taken it’s toll on my body with a wracking cough but I’m on the mend and almost back to 100%.

Yesterday, I remembered I hadn’t posted the calendar and when I looked at the theme for July it is exactly what I need in life at the moment. I’ve been down with illness and also feeling ‘down’ because I’ve been so sick and not able to stay active and enjoy life.

The prompts for July are all about finding ways to Bounce Back – whether that is from an illness or you’ve been overwhelmed by a problem or you just have the Winter blues.

We can be so hard on ourselves or not give ourselves to time and space to recover physically, mentally or to enable us to work through problems that might be nagging away at us.

Hopefully this calendar will start you on the track to bouncing back. For me it will be about being kind to myself, giving my body time to recover fully but also starting to be more active each day as I grow stronger.

    Hi Sue – so sorry to hear that you’ve been laid low again, but that you’ve given yourself the time and grace to recover and bounce back. Since covid isolated us all, it seems that viruses are hitting us harder (maybe we lost a bit of our immunity while we were all being so careful?) Anyway, good that you’re on the mend and the suggestions in the calendar are really positive and helpful – something we can all use as we deal with life’s ups and downs.

      Hi Leanne, yes I’ve been very ill with a trip to ED but tested negative for COVID, Influenza A and B as well as RSA. It’s a new virus apparently and my friend in Tassie has it as well as her daughter. I’ve now kindly given it to Mike! x

    I’m sorry to hear you’ve been so sick. I hope you’ll be back to normal soon!
    The summer of 2023 so far has been one of the hardest times of my life. I’ll share more on the blog when I’m ready. But totally YES to bouncing back. These prompts are wonderful, thanks for sharing them.

    Hi Sue, this post is absolutely perfect for me this month. My husband had heart surgery 2 weeks ago and I was diagnosed with asthma last week. Definitely need encouragement to bounce back. Please take good care of yourself. These nasty viruses seem to be harder and harder to recover from.

    Have been worried about you. So very unlike you to be knocked down by anything that you don’t immediately bounce back up from. I think the older we get, the harder it is to bounce back quickly. Napping on my sick days is a big help. I was off my game emotionally yesterday. And I did just as your happiness action plan for the day suggested…I did something I enjoy doing. I scrapbooked with my sister on Facetime. Really helped.
