Make it Happen 2020 Challenge

2020! Yes a New Year and with stars in our eyes, full of enthusiasm and optimism for not only a New Year but a new decade, we make our resolutions or goals which we all stick to and achieve!!!

Oops sorry, I’m dreaming.

New Year Resolutions and goals are important however, I’ve stopped making resolutions in favour of just making a life plan that continues further than mid January.

In my previous post, I asked: Will you Commit to making one change in 2020?

Have you given the answer to that question any thought?   Now is the time to do just that! Take a moment to quickly read through that post as a starting point.

Join me for the Make it Happen 2020 Challenge

Not another challenge!!! I know you have been bombarded with challenges leading up to the New Year.

Challenging ourselves is good but sometimes it can be overwhelming, probably because we try to achieve too much too soon.

I know, because the last few months of 2019 were very stressful for me and saw me questioning myself, blogging and other areas in my life. I was trying to juggle too many balls and dropping most of them. I wasn’t achieving change, goals or moving forward just sinking deeper and deeper. So I decided to change all of that and by taking time out to actually think, I realised that what I love doing most is helping others to achieve their goals or make positive changes in their lives.

My goal for 2020 is to regain my mojo and help others achieve theirs. One habit or goal at a time.

The idea of the Make it Happen 2020 Challenge is to start by selecting just one thing you would like to change in your life OR one dream you want to make a reality and MAKE IT HAPPEN!

I recently saw this quote from Enlightened Consciousness and thought it captured the essence of Make It Happen 2020. Start with 1 thing and making sure you focus on that each day.

Each week I will be coaching you and being your cheerleader as we work together to make it happen. On the blog and the Facebook Group, I’ll be providing free resources, inspiration and motivation to get you going and more importantly see you achieve.

I will also be working through on my own goals and sharing my progress with you. By supporting and encouraging each other we can do it.

Once you have worked through and achieved your first change or goal, then move on to the next one. I’m looking at this challenge as a year long process for self-development and growth.

All you have to do is:

During January we will be planning and preparing as I provide you with the tools to Make it Happen. Then it is all systems go after that. Yes, there maybe ‘homework’ but isn’t anything important to us worth the time and effort to achieve it?

If you want something for 2020 then it’s time to get serious and start doing something about it!

Step 1 – Buy a notebook or journal – make it a beautiful one for you to treasure and write your thoughts

Step 2 – Start thinking about the one thing that you will be working on.

See you next week for Planning & Prep!

Great idea, Sue! Like you, I had a stressful 2019, especially with my foot surgery and other issues. Recovering from surgery put my life into a better perspective and as I turned 60 in December, I realized I need more Zen and balance in my life. I’m on a blogging break now as I enjoy our winter road trip “do-over” here in North Phoenix Arizona. Although I don’t have a resolution I did choose a word for 2020: Present. I am so future-oriented that I forget to enjoy what is right in front of me so I will committ to doing better! We made it to the Grand Canyon yesterday after being unable to go last year. I made sure I enjoyed the moment and took lots of pics to commemorate the event. Cheers to you my friend and Happy New Year to you!

I love your word Terri as I am guilty of rushing through things sometimes and just not appreciating the moment. I took a step back from blogging for a short time as I just wasn’t feeling it. I have big plans for 2020 but I’m not putting the usual pressure on myself to have them all put in place by mid January. I’m going to enjoy all aspects of my life and remove what doesn’t suit me anymore. Happy New Year to you and best wishes for 2020. xx

This is great Sue. I will join you as there are a few things I’d like to work on this year. 2019 wasn’t a great year but I’m expecting big things from 2020. Together we are stronger

Hi Jen, a few of us struggled in 2019 so that is why I thought I would put the Make It Happen challenge together. It is for myself mainly but also to help others to want to join in. You are right – together we are stronger. Happy New Year to you and your family Jen and here’s to a better 2020 for you. xx

    Happy New Year, Sue!
I’m attempting to live one day at a time without stressing about the future and this idea really helps. The one thing I’m working on is my health.

Happy New Year Corinne! Living one day at a time to the full is a great goal. I love that you are also working on your health. x

Hi Sue – this sounds like a fabulous idea. I have this feeling that 2020 is my year for new beginnings. 2019 closed off a chapter of my life and I feel like I now have a blank slate in front of me and no idea what to write on it. I’ll be giving it some thought over the weeks ahead and hopefully I’ll come up with my first step in the journey in time to join in your challenge. Thanks so much for the added inspiration.

Hi Leanne, I know this year will be your year as you wisely took 2019 to step back and reflect on what you want from life. It is exciting to have a blank slate – lots of possibilities! x

Hi Sue, can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store for all,of us! I, too, became a little overwhelmed with all the things I had to juggle. This year I hope to put more time into things *I* love, rather than things I feel I am expected to do . My word for for 2020 is Kindness. Nothing really new from me, it’s been my word for years, but this year I intend to do something more concrete around it. This challenge will help no, I’m sure, xxx

    • Reply Sue Loncaric January 5, 2020 at 08:17

Love our word Jane and it doesn’t matter if it is always your word because Kindness counts for so much in life, doesn’t it? Happy New Year and I love that you will be doing more of what you love rather than what you feel you need to go. Happy New Year! x

    Hi Sue,
Like especially that you are putting a focus on being a “coach and cheerleader”…you are very good at both, And I know that you were struggling last year to find the path that brought you the most personal satisfaction. I’ll be here to take part in some of these action steps. I am, also, continuing to balance my life how I allocate time to what is most important to me. Right now I’m finding that I am a bit distracted and can’t seem to settle into anything, including my blog writing.

    • Reply Sue Loncaric January 5, 2020 at 08:22

Hi Nancy, I have been where you are and am still there to a certain extent. I am doing the Make It Happen 2020 for myself as much as for my readers. I do love coaching and encouraging others and want to focus on that for 2020. Happy New Year and I hope that some of my thoughts may be of help to you. xx

Hi Sue, I have loved your site and really enjoyed your insights, inspirational articles and links, and uplifting posts. For very specific reasons, I don’t use Facebook but would love to be able to access the 2020 Challenge – it seems to be just what I need at the moment. Motivation and procrastination are my ‘Mean Girl’ voices that seem to put the brakes on making the headway I want, so being able to do something positive about it means a lot to me. This might seem like a big ask, but is it possible to access some of the material and info without joining the Facebook page?

    • Reply Sue Loncaric January 13, 2020 at 07:18

Hi Kerry, thank you for your positive comments which I greatly appreciate. I’ll have a think of ways I can keep you in the loop although I will be publishing posts regularly on the blog and writing about ways to achieve your goals in the weekly Newsletter. You won’t miss much at all by not being in the FB group. If you would like to email me with any questions feel free to do so at Have a great week! xx

Happy New Year, Sue! I look forward to catching up on my reading and I always appreciate how you share a genuine part of yourself and gems. I love your goal for 2020. I also really like the word “mojo” on many levels.

I will go back and read your previous post.

One thing I want to make sure to mention to you Sue, since one of your challenges last Spring (doing daily push ups) I have been doing push ups along with stretches every single day. Thank you for being you! You do make a difference! xx

Happy New Year to you Erica! I’ve missed you but thought you would be taking time out over the holiday season to spend time with family and friends. I’m so happy to hear that one of my challenges has had a positive effect on your life and I’m always keen to receive feedback on what I’m doing right and what I’m getting wrong. You are a dear friend and I wish you and your family every happiness for 2020 and beyond xx

I love hearing from you and your comments are important to me
