Mid-Year Review 2024

Welcome to What’s Been On Your Calendar? 2024! I hope you have had a Marvelous March and if you are linking up I can’t wait to hear about what you’ve been doing. If you don’t blog I still would love to hear from you so you can leave a comment and tell me what’s been happening with you.

I’d love you to pause, make a cuppa and take your time reading through what’s been on my calendar? #WBOYC

#WBOYC? March 2024

Can you believe we are at the end of March and the first quarter of 2024. Time flies but as long as I’m living well and enjoying life that makes me happy.

Autumn has arrived at last and we are enjoying cooler temperatures at last.

March was a mixed bag for me – fashion shoots, family history discovery, cooking, running, being happy, podcasting, book clubbing, exercising, lunching and Pooch sitting. Rather than writing endless paragraphs I’m presenting my March in photos with a summary list of what I’ve been up to.

In summary my #WBOYC? – March 2024 :

  • Finally completed the bathroom renovations – they look fantastic and we are very pleased with the end result
  • Shared some Mindful Minute, Daily Intention reels to my Instagram for the Mindful May Challenge
  • March 10th Celebrated International Women’s Day #inspireinclusion (8th March) running in the IWD Run with my Running Buddy as is our annual tradition. The first ‘fun run’ for the year.
  • Celebrated International Day of Happiness on March 20th – this year’s theme was ‘Happier Together
  • Interviewed 4 more interesting women for the WLWA50 podcast
  • Discovered a surprise ancestor, Dolly Dalrymple researching Family History for the Tell Us About Prompt this month – Family History can send you down many rabbit holes. I also looked back through old photos of my family when I was younger.
  • Remembered my Dad who died 11th March, 1981 5 weeks before my daughter was born
  • Enjoyed a catch-up lunch with the Groovy Grans Group
  • Enjoyed wearing some new jackets kindly gifted to me by Fella Hamilton – I can’t decide which is my favourite!
  • Rediscovered Red Lipstick & my love of RED for winter
  • Became an Affiliate for Happy Healthy Fitness Atheleisure wear – more to come on this next month
  • Met with my online Classics Book Club to discuss Anne of Green Gables – I revisited photos of the time I actually visited Green Gables on Prince Edward Island.
  • Managed to move daily for at least 30 minutes
  • Learned about the Freestyle Libre 2 a diabetes sensor which Mike is now wearing to track his blood sugar levels rather than having to prick his finger several times a day. We had an interesting meeting with a Diabetes Educator.
  • Enjoyed preparing dinners at home and using our air fryer more
  • Took sessions in the Strong Healthy Women Online Studio – I love helping Women Over 50 stay fit and active
  • Enjoying the company of our favourite houseguest, Wallis the Pooch who is staying with us whilst her family enjoy a holiday in North Queensland.
  • Enjoyed breakfasts and lunches with Mike and also friends
  • Had my hair cut after 3 months!

Another enjoyable month of blogging in March and once again I have been inspired by others, plus brimming with ideas from life as well as writing prompts, in addition to my usual link ups which I co-host or contribute to.

I’m grateful for the considered and encouraging comments I’ve been receiving and feel I’m back on track with what I want to share with you all.

I’ve listed my March posts below in case you missed any of them.

The Women Living Well After 50 Podcast

Season 7 is well underway and I’ve completed and scheduled 9 interviews to date with more in the pipeline. Episodes 3 and 4 in Season 7 are listed below in case you missed them. I know you will enjoy listening to them and would love your feedback.

I linked up with

  • Gail from Is this Mutton? for the monthly Tell Us About link up – this month’s prompt was Legacy. A prompt we all struggled with but our posts came up trumps.
  • Min from Write of the Middle for her Wednesday Words and Whimsey and was honoured to be a co-host and support Min who had to step away from hosting duties for a week because of her sick Mum and life in general. Min is now back co-hosting and it is wonderful to have her back.
  • Hosted What’s On Your Bookshelf? with my lovely friends Debbie, Donna & Jo
  • I started co-hosting a new-to-me link up the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot! with the lovely Marsha from Marsha in the Middle, Melynda, from Scratch Made Food for Hungry People, and Lisa, from Boondock Ramblings

Well, that’s what’s been on my calendar and I Iook forward hearing what you’ve been up to. I’m sharing my co-hosts’ links as well so remember to pop over and visit to see how their month progressed.

Hi, Sue – I greatly enjoyed this coffee catch-up with you. You’ve had a very full and active March. Congratulations on completing your bathroom renovations. They look excellent. I love all if the clothes that you have modeled – especially that red jacket! <3

    • Reply Sue Loncaric April 1, 2024 at 09:54

Hi Donna, we love our new bathrooms and feel pretty proud of doing some of the work ourselves x

  • Reply Lydia C. Lee March 29, 2024 at 08:58

There is a lot there (you and I seem to have fallen into the ‘no time for the hairdresser’ brigade…) but the thing thqat stop[ped me in my tracks – Green Gables is a place??? I thought it was a house with green gables (I’ve never read the book – is it worthwhile?) Love tat Being Happy is in your list. Nothing more worthwhile….#WBOYC

    • Reply Sue Loncaric April 1, 2024 at 09:55

Hi Lydia, no time for the hairdresser and really wanting something different but not sure what style (first world problems for sure_. Green Gables is the house where the author spent many holidays and based Anne of Green Gables around. It was fascinating to visit. x

  • Reply Debbie March 29, 2024 at 10:40

This is a great recap of your month Sue, you’ve been busy but also happy which shows in your photos – your fashion shoots are fabulous and those jackets look great on you, especially the red one. I’m loving your podcast guests and being a co-host with you for our linkups. Thanks for all you do!

    • Reply Sue Loncaric April 1, 2024 at 09:56

It was a pretty good month, Deb. I’m not sure if a photo gallery takes less time than writing but it was lovely to reminisce about March and what I did. x

  • Reply Denyse Whelan March 29, 2024 at 12:33

I see you have had a very busy but balanced March. LOTS to take in and I am so glad you are enjoying some of the ventures into family history. You do suit red and I am enjoying seeing your updates. I have a hair cut every 4 weeks to keep my style easy and the last time I went 3 months it was in covid …and the result did not suit me at all. Your style on the other hand works well at either short or medium!

Happy Easter and thanks for the link up.

    • Reply Sue Loncaric April 1, 2024 at 10:09

HI Denyse, March was another enjoyable month and of course April has birthdays and school holidays – I wonder what it will bring? I hope you are having a lovely Easter weekend. x

  • Reply leannelc March 29, 2024 at 14:17

Hi Sue – a busy and engaging month for you (as usual!) The bathroom looks great and you look lovely in your new jackets. I hope the atheleisure wear goes well too, I’m sure you’ll get a lot of use out of any that you choose. Here’s to a lovely Easter and April. x

    • Reply Sue Loncaric April 1, 2024 at 10:12

Hi Leanne, I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend. March was an enjoyable month and with family birthdays and school holidays in April hopefully that will be a good month too! x

  • Reply Gail Is This Mutton March 29, 2024 at 17:57

My goodness Sue I don’t know how you fit it all in! Looking great in red and red lipstick. Have a great weekend.

    • Reply Sue Loncaric April 1, 2024 at 10:13

Hi Gail, yes when you look back we all achieve a great deal in each month, don’t we? At least we aren’t sitting around doing nothing! x

  • Reply Joanne March 30, 2024 at 00:00

I love red in winter too; it’s such a bold color but a much needed pop of color when everything else can feel so dark and dismal. It looks great on you too! It sounds (and looks!) like a great month.

    • Reply Sue Loncaric April 1, 2024 at 10:13

Red is fast becoming a winter favourite colour Joanne. x

  • Reply Natalie March 30, 2024 at 00:06

Hi Sue, What an active and fun March! I enjoyed this coffee catch-up with you. Your bathroom renovations look beautiful and the red jacket looks great on you. I added my link to the $WBOYC link-up. Thank you for hosting. Happy April!

    • Reply Sue Loncaric April 1, 2024 at 10:14

We are very happy with the bathroom renovations and also with our efforts in doing some of the work ourselves. x

  • Reply Janine March 30, 2024 at 04:56

Hi Sue, it looks like March was overall a happy and productive month, but bittersweet remembering your father’s anniversary. Diving into your family history looks like it’s bringing up interesting stories though.
I loved your podcast episodes this month plus your fashion shoots. Red definitely suits you.

    • Reply Sue Loncaric April 1, 2024 at 10:15

Yes, unfortunately, Dad couldn’t hold on until my daughter was born. Family history is fascinating but very time consuming! Thanks for the feedback on the podcasts. I have some great interviews coming up x

  • Reply Default Sim March 30, 2024 at 05:15

Wow, so stylish! Love the red on you!

    • Reply Sue Loncaric April 1, 2024 at 10:14

Thank you! I love red for winter.

  • Reply Jo March 30, 2024 at 05:45

I adore those jackets … We each got a trial version of those blood sugar trackers. It was what convinced Grant to finally do something about his diabetes. They’re real game changers. Thanks for being such a fab cohost x

    • Reply Sue Loncaric April 1, 2024 at 10:16

I love both jackets, too, Jo. I need to go out more so I can wear them! The Blood glucose sensor has been really good for Mike and he received a great report from the Endo. x

  • Reply Christie Hawkes March 30, 2024 at 07:13

You did have a busy month, Sue! I love that you included rediscovered red lipstick on your list. I can’t pull it off, but it looks beautiful on you.

    • Reply Sue Loncaric April 1, 2024 at 10:17

Hi Christie, I’m always dubious about wearing red lipstick but when I do everyone comments positively. x

  • Reply Bernie March 31, 2024 at 06:19

What a great run down of your month. Love how you did photo highlights and listed blog posts. And yes it’s crazy that the month is almost over and that means the year is swishing by. I am inspired by your movement and have finally decided to use a fitness tracker. Just uploaded it and have set my goals for the next 6 months for walking and biking. Thinking about doing a short easy triathlon — need to hit the pool and see what 10 lengths feels like. Take care. Happy Easter. Bernie

    • Reply Sue Loncaric April 1, 2024 at 10:17

Good for you Bernie! I can’t ride a bike so a triathlon would be out for me. You go girl and having a goal is just what you need. x

      • Reply Bernie April 1, 2024 at 11:44

Well, first, I need to see if I can still swim! Muscle memory can do a bit, and my cardio training is a good bit, but will it all come together??🤔

        • Reply Sue Loncaric April 2, 2024 at 08:23

One day at a time, Bernie! You will get there x

  • Reply Susanne March 31, 2024 at 21:13

Seems like you had a month full of positives! You look fantastic in red – that jacket is fabulous.
I’ve always adored Anne of Green Gables, whether it’s the book, film, Netflix show or whatnot. How lovely that you’ve actually visited the Green Gables!
Sad to see the link-up is only open 48 hours now. 🙁 I rarely have anything to share during the winter months but decided in the last minute to put together a winter wrap-up post. Too late though.

    • Reply Sue Loncaric April 1, 2024 at 10:20

We only changed the closing date in this link up, Susanne as most people had posted within 48 hours. I’m sorry you missed out but I will pop over and read your post. x

  • Reply marsha57 April 1, 2024 at 13:10

You had a really full month. I hope your autumn is long and colorful (if that’s how you like them)! We never really lost our green grass this winter so I can’t say that spring has brought green grass. It’s just brought longer green grass.

You are such an inspiration, Sue! I’ve got to adopt that move 30 minutes a day mindset. I’ve decided April 1st is the day after Easter so a good time for a rebirth of a healthier me. I’m going to do it!

I did miss the link up, but I’ll be sure to make it in for April!

Hi Julie, Wallis the Pooch is so adorable although she is 12 years old now so becoming a bit slower. x
