How you can Look Fabulous Forever

October 16, 2017

Look fabulous forever

Do you sometimes wake up and just feel blah?  I know I do and to pep myself up I usually have a lovely long shower, wash my hair, style it and then put on some makeup.  Nothing gives me an instant mood lift like a touch of lippy.  Of course, I don’t go around wearing full on makeup all the time at home but there is something to be said for putting in a little effort especially if you aren’t feeling upbeat.

I was recently sent some product from the Look Fabulous Forever range to try and wanted to share my thoughts with you.  I love receiving surprises in the mail – don’t you?

The founder of Look Fabulous Forever, Tricia Cusden is also one of my guests in The Positive Aging Interviews this month and is such a role model for women of all ages.

You can read my interview with Tricia here: The Positive Aging Interviews – Introducing Tricia Cusden from Look Fabulous Forever

I’ve actually been following LFF,  although I hadn’t tried their products.  I wasn’t sure if they shipped to Australia. The good news is ………

Yes they do ship worldwide including Australia plus there is a 30 days return policy.

I also like the fact that even if you have used the product and don’t like it or it wasn’t exactly the right colour, you can return the product and receive a full refund.  Now that is great customer service in my book!

A little about Look Fabulous Forever

I love the philosophy of LFF which is that there is no age barrier to looking fabulous.  Tricia has designed the products especially for older women who still want to wear makeup.  In the video below, Tricia explains more about the formulation of the products.

I also enjoy looking at the ‘how to’ videos and the ‘before and after’ gallery.  Sure, some ladies don’t like wearing makeup and that is fine.  However, I know that when I make the effort to put some makeup on my self-esteem improves and I just feel good about myself.  Just because we are retired doesn’t mean we are retired from life and don’t take care of ourselves anymore.

The Products

Face Prime:  This product is used after your moisturiser and before your foundation.  It helps your makeup stay on longer and makes your skin feel smoother. Short on time? You can just mix the primer with your moisturiser. Find more information in Tricia’s Makeup tutorial ‘The Importance Of Primers For Older Skin’.  I found you don’t need too much but it has such a beautiful rich and smooth finish when I applied it to my skin.  Find out more about the Face Prime here.

Base 02 & Base 03:  This is your foundation to even out your skin tone.  It comes in three shades and I’ve tried the medium and darker one.  Containing Vitamin E and coconut oil the result is a light covering with protection from the environment plus a ‘dewy glow’ and we all need that!  I used Base 02 which was probably closer to my skin tone.  It was light to apply and didn’t feel heavy wearing it.  The coverage was good and again I didn’t need to use too much. Blush: A hint of blush can give you that healthy glow and watching Tricia’s Makeup video tutorial ‘How to Apply Our Fabulous Blush’, I learned how to apply it correctly.  I loved the colour of this blush and it was easy to apply.  I built up the colour slowly as I didn’t want that ‘clown rosy cheeked’ look.  It was a natural glow and as someone who finds it difficult to get the right colour this was perfect for me.  Find out more about the Blush here.

Lip Colours – Soft Plum & Soft Coral: If you don’t wear anything else, wearing lip colour and defining your eyebrows can really make a difference. I loved both colours and again I loved the rich, moisturising feeling.  I didn’t really need to re-apply for several hours which was a bonus.  Click on each image to find out more about these moisturising lipsticks.

My thoughts

When I first received the product I looked up the LFF website and read about how to use each one.  There is so much helpful information and as I mentioned the videos are a great way to learn how to use the product correctly.

I adore the products and I’m sold after one use!  They feel so rich and smooth and I can understand Tricia when she says they are especially made for mature skin.

I love the packaging and all products were easy to apply and felt light on my skin.  There is nothing worse than wearing ‘heavy’ makeup.  I like to have a more natural look and these products were just right for my skin.

My Before and After

Now I’m being very brave here and showing some ‘Before’ and ‘After ‘ photos!  So much emphasis is placed on how we look that even the most self-confident women might still hesitate at showing their faces ‘au naturale’.  However, here goes!

I just had my very first ‘makeover’ at Sephora in JCPenney. The gal used a primer on my face and then something that seems a lot like the Fabulous Base. I really liked the way it camouflaged my sun spots but I felt like my face was hidden under a thick layer of goop. These products you are reviewing sound lighter and more breathable.

You are naturally beautiful, Sue. Those Roberts genes! The makeup just enhances that pretty face.
