Happiness My #100happydays Challenge

Be happy

Be happy

I recently saw on friend’s facebook page that they were taking up the #100happydays challenge.  (Find out more about the #100happydays challenge)

The month of October has been a very difficult one for me which was reflected in my lack of motivation and enthusiasm.

We lost a dear family friend (my husband had known her for 60 years) and I also lost my brother (only 65 years old) which was a shock to us all. Both had cancer and my brother was only diagnosed 6 weeks ago so it was very swift.  In addition to this sadness my husband and I were both ill with nasty coughs and sore throats so there was definitely some ‘feeling sorry for myself’ going on.

We Celebrated my brother’s Life in an uplifting memorial service and once again I was reminded how life is so short – too short for regrets or being unhappy.

So enough is enough of self pity!  I’m taking the ‪#‎100happydays‬ challenge which I saw one of my blogging friends Mackenzie Glanville from Reflections from me had undertaken to do.

Each day I will record one thing that makes me happy and post it on instagram and facebook so stay tuned. I would love you to follow my journey on social media (I have already posted Days 1 & 2) and I will also post a weekly update on my website.

The #100happydays website suggested that  71% of people who take up this challenge don’t complete it due to ‘lack of time’.  How sad that we don’t have a moment each day to find some happiness.

There are positives though for taking the time to find some happiness in each day:-

  • You will start to feel happier as you concentrate on happiness
  • Your mood will lift and you will feel better
  • You appreciate life and all you have
  • Life is just that little much better.

So why not join me?

There is so much sadness in the world that we need to appreciate all the good things we have.Click To Tweet

I’m so sorry for your loss. I believe, wholeheartedly in making the best of everyday though and what a wonderful way to do so. I’m reminded that I need to do my 365 days of happiness again. I’ve lost track of that! Your post is such a blessing!

Oh thank you for your kind words Leslie! 365 days – wow that is a lot but I suppose if you think about it we should be happy about something in our life each day. Thanks for stopping by to comment and have a lovely day!

Sorry for those sad events in October, dear ones that die do make us stop and think and evaluate. What a wonderful idea to look for something to be happy and thankful for each day. An exercise like that can only be good.
    Thanks for hosting this party,

I feel for you and our sad times of late but love your get up and go attitude. Thanks for sharing #wednesdayswisdom. Have a great week

Yes Jennifer it hasn’t been an easy ride for either of us but at least we know our loved ones are at peace and not suffering. Thanks for stopping by to comment and you have a great week also.

I love both these quotes and agree with you completely. Sometimes things are good, sometimes bad, but we always need to look for the light at the end of the tunnel. I know that you do, and that you will come out of this stronger than ever. I am so sorry for the losses you’ve had. So sorry. But loving deeply is the only way to really love, isn’t it? And love carries with it the possibility of hurt and loss. But we choose to love anyway, don’t we? xx

Yes love is a double edged sword sometimes but where would we be without it Nikki? Thank you for stopping by to comment and for your beautiful supportive words. Have a lovely week!
