Happier now than in my 20s? – My interview with Take 5 Magazine

July 28, 2022

I was interviewed recently by Take 5 Magazine to share my thoughts for a feature article about women who are happier in their 50s, 60s and 70s than they were in their 20s. The article was published mid July and as someone who is pro-aging and with the attitude of #nevertooold I was very happy to share my story.

It takes courage to share your story sometimes and I was pleasantly surprised that a national magazine in Australia and New Zealand would be interested in my experiences. I suppose we all feel that we aren’t that ‘special’ or different from anyone else but it proves that we all have a story to tell and someone may be inspired by us – you never know! x

If I had the chance of being 20 again, I wouldn’t take it. At 64 I’m healthier and happier than ever.

It is never too late to make changes in your life and I’ve proven that. Sure it takes commitment and a true desire to change what you aren’t happy with and sometimes that is tough.

Have you a similar story to mine? I’d love to hear what positive changes you’ve made and if you are happier now than in your 20s.

What a great testament you are to the joys of being an older woman Sue. It was a very inspiring article and hopefully it’ll give some of the less active and engaged women who read Take 5 a much needed boost to get up and get moving (and start living well) xx

Hello and thank you Suzanne for your best wishes. It is surprising isn’t it that we view our own story as ‘ordinary’ yet others find it interesting or inspirational. We all have a story to tell. xx
