Fitness Foundations – What every woman over 50 with aches and pains needs to know

April 13, 2022

It’s time for Wellness Wednesday and this week the topic is around still being able to stay fit and active after 50 despite the aches and pains.

Fitness – do you really know what that means?

Are you doing the right type of exercise to maintain your fitness, strength, endurance and flexibility to enable you to still do normal daily tasks?

Do you have aches and pains that are holding you back?

Having difficulty lifting or keeping up with your grandchildren?

Not as flexible as you used to be?

In this week’s episode on the Women Living Well Podcast my guest is Peta Gillian, CEO of Strong Healthy Women and a specialist in Fitness Foundations.

During the conversation we discussed:

Foundations / Essential Elements

  • What fitness is.
  • Why you are doing it.
  • What you need (yourself and environment)
  • Where you are at now
  • Where you want to be
  • Assessing your fitness
  • Reasons why Women don’t workout
  • 3 key elements of Fitness

Thank you, Sue and Peta – Doing the right excercises for us and knowing why we are doing them is so important. Thank you for sharing this important conversations.

Hi Sue – what a great concept to discuss! So many of us have age related issues that cause us pain and make us reluctant to push ourselves too hard. Finding ways to work around that is so important because sitting around in a chair for the rest of our lives is not an option! 🙂
