Fine, thinning, frizz – our hair can cause us issues especially post Menopause.
Our hair is supposed to be our crowning glory but for me, if I had one wish it would be to have a daily hair stylist visit and do my hair!!!
If my hair looks good, then I feel good!
During and post menopause as Estrogen levels fell I found that my hair has become drier, thinner and difficult to style without a lot of product and time. I also found it was starting to fall out and it just didn’t feel or look healthy despite taking supplements for skin, nail and hair. Estrogen promotes hair growth, density and fullness so the days I have to style my hair have become even more of a chore and is usually a hit and miss as to what it looks like when styled.
I’ve not intentionally gone grey but I stopped having foils about 18 months ago and I’m back to my natural colour but Grey hair can be coarse and difficult to maintain. I had also had foils for a number of years which dry out the hair and keeping it in good condition, healthy and shiny became a mission. Life is too short to be taking hours to style hair.
A few months ago I was asked to try the Zuvi Halo Dryer. At first, I declined as I was having health issues at the time, but I’m so pleased they approached me again. I had seen some other reviews and was eager to try the new way of drying and styling my hair.
The Zuvi Halo Dryer has won several awards, including the Allure’s Best of Beauty 2023: Breakthrough Awards so I was eager to test it out and see if the hype was true.
I workout and run daily so in Summer, especially, I will wash my hair almost daily. I need a dryer that will do the job without the heat damaging my hair.
So why is the Zuvi Halo Dryer different to other hair dryers?

When I opened the pack I was impressed with the sleek, light-weight design. I was also intrigued by the concept of Zuvi Halo’s LightCare™ technology. How could light dry and style my hair? Well it does! The Zuvi Halo uses light to dry only the water droplets on the surface of your hair, protecting your hair’s internal moisture for healthier hair.
Because it dries at a lower temperature it is perfect for those of us with sensitive scalps, compared to traditional hair dryers which use extreme heat to dry your hair. You are basically “baking” and overdrying your hair and scalp, leading to dryness and damage.
Their website suggests that Zuvi Halo is engineered for hair health, to help you maintain the internal moisture of your hair cortex, resulting in stronger, healthier hair with added shine and smoothness.
How do I use the Zuvi Halo Hair Dryer?
The Zuvi Halo Hair Dryer has four modes CARE FAST SOFT STYLE and SMOOTH each with a different heat setting. There are three attachments – a styling concentrator, a diffuser to reduce frizz and a gentle hair attachment for those of us with sensitive scalps. You pick a setting that is right for you. I usually use FAST to dry my hair and then STYLE or GENTLE with the concentrate attachment to style my hair. I did try the diffuser with some product for a beach curls look which will be perfect for the Summer months ahead.

Even without using any styling products, the Zuvi Halo Hair Dryer produced a sleek salon result with lots of body! It feels so soft and I feel a million dollars. (I’ve also tried it using product for a more formal style).

Final thoughts on the Zuvi Halo Hairdryer
I have to admit I was sceptical at first but after using the Zuvi Halo a few times I love it. My hair is soft and shiny and I think I achieved a salon look.
One thing I need to point out is that this dryer, although it has 4 different modes, has a very powerful air flow with only one speed option, so it took me a couple of times to get used to the speed. The Zuvi Halo is designed not to rely on extreme temperatures, but to combine wind and low heat in order to avoid heat damage. If you a looking for a gentler airflow, use the SOFT mode paired with the Gentle Air attachment. This will further diffuse air and result in a smoother experience.
The Zuvi Halo Hair Dryer is not cheap but I look at it as investment which is helps my hair stay healthy and look good and aren’t you worth the investment? I would definitely treat myself or perhaps as a birthday gift from the family. I’d love to get one for my daughter.
A huge positive for me is that the style holds much longer between washes. I’ve tested the hair dryer’s ability to maintain the style by exercising and leaving my hair without washing (unless it really needs it after a run) and I find each morning the style just needs a comb through. As someone who has always had trouble maintaining the style because of my thin hair this is a huge bonus for me.

Your hair looks absolutely beautiful, Sue. And I fully agree with you. If our hair looks good, we can’t help but feel great! <3
Thanks Donna! The hair dryer is expensive but what a treat for me. I love it and my hair style actually lasts between washes. x
Hi Sue – your hair looks great. I love my Zuvi hairdryer – it’s so much kinder to my hair and definitely feels better than my previous hairdryer that blew a lot hotter and louder. I do wish they had a heat only setting (with little or no wind and just the light) but other than that it’s perfect – mine’s still going strong and getting used every day. Welcome to the Zuvi club 🙂
I love it, Leanne and so pleased I took them up on the offer when they approached me again. The power setting was a issue but I’m getting used to it and love that my style lasts or a few days. We are very lucky to have been offered the opportunity to have one. x
I love the sound of this hairdryer Sue! Your review makes me want to go out and buy one. I can attest to the fact that you hair looks lovely and I really thought you’d been tot he hairdressers when I saw you last week, it looked so good. Great review!
It is such a good hairdryer Deb and whilst it is very expensive if you can afford it I would go for it. You’ve kindly commented several times on my hair since I’ve been using it so it must be doing the job! xx
I love my Zuvi hairdryer and had the same thought as you. I wish there was another speed. I use it with the gentle hair attachment or the styling piece. Otherwise, my hair blows all over the place and gets very tangled. The technology is amazing!

Like you Marsha the speed was the only issue but my hair has never been easier to style so I’m working around the speed. x
Thanks for sharing this Sue – I would have been sceptical about a ‘new’ type of hair dryer but your demonstration of how well you can style your hair has been impressive. You certainly have achieved a salon look!
I’m sceptical of anything that promises the world, Janine, because they usually don’t deliver. This is an expensive product but my hair has never looked better or felt softer. I’m very appreciative of the fact that they gave it to me to review. x
You look salon fresh and sleek. Had seen this hair dryer when Leanne shared it and was impressed then as I am now.
I was so grateful to have been sent the hair dryer, Leslie because as you know from Leanne’s post and mine, they are quite expensive. I love using it now I am used to the one speed. x
