As we close 2024, the final theme for the Action for Happiness Calendar is ‘Do Good December’. I’ve recently seen the generosity of others as I volunteered as a Shero for the Share the Dignity It’s In the Bag drive. I was overwhelmed with joy as I collected the donated bags, checked them and then organised for them to be delivered to various charities for vulnerable women, teen girls and Mums and bubs.
The month of December follows on from the celebration in the US of Thanksgiving as well as the start of the Festive Season. Here in Australia, the decorations are in all the stores and even some of us are putting up our own Christmas decorations earlier this year in an effort to bring some joy and cheer to this sad world.
It is a time when we think of others and Do Good December is the perfect theme to think of others rather than ourselves.

I have done a custom made kindness advent calendar for several years. My friend Janice and I co design it and do some stuff together. A month ago her husband, a close friend of ours, was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. I am going to not spread my actions this December and shower them with kindness this year. They could really use it with such a rotten prognosis.
As usual I appreciate your sparks of joy, compassion and energy that you bring to this space to share with all of us.
Oh I’m so sorry to hear about your friend’s husband, Bernie. I’m sure you will bring much needed comfort and support to them during this testing time. x
Saved the calendar again – hope you do this again next year as it is full of lovely prompts/ideas.
Hi Barbara, yes I will continue to share the calendars each month. They are a great reminder with some lovely prompts. x
A lovely action list, Sue x
Thanks, Toni and I’m looking forward to catching up with you when you are here in a few weeks x
I love these calendars, Sue, though I seem to always forget to consult them regularly. I will do better if you keep sharing them…could be my New Years resolution!

The calendars are great prompts, Marsha although like you sometimes life gets in the way and I don’t always consult them. x
I just helped a friend clean up her yard with a dumpster rental, and it made me realize how often I get caught up in my own life and forget to serve others. I’ve been wanting to find a way to make my days more meaningful, and this calendar has been a perfect solution—it takes the guesswork out and just encourages action. Thanks so much for sharing it! I’m excited to see if there are more calendars like this in the future.
Hi Tina, I’m so pleased you like the calendars and I share them each month from Action for Happiness. They do provide little nudges to us to think about others and that’s a good thing. Thanks for stopping by to leave me a comment and have a lovely day x
