Best of Boomer Blogs July Edition

Unusual Fashion Accessories

I’ve recently added a guest writer, Christine from My Private Stylist,  for all things Fashion. However, this week in the BBB July Edition, Meryl introduces some fashion accessories I could never have imagined!

Meryl Baer of Six Decades and Counting usually writes about issues both men and women might find interesting. This week only readers of the female persuasion may be amused. The subject matter – fashion and jewelry – are topics most men consider uninspiring. Everyone, however, is invited to visit her blog and peruse Charms for Private Places.

Problem Solving when Customer Service Lets you down

Nothing is worse for a blogger than losing her connection to the internet. On The Survive and Thrive Boomer Guide, Rita R. Robison, consumer journalist, writes about how difficult it was to work with Comcast to get her internet service restored. But, then, in the end, she fixed the problem herself, staving off a service call and more lost time blogging. Visit Rita’s website and read how Comcast continues its poor customer service

Health Screening You Should Know About

“There’s no way to dress it up, no way to paper it over,” writes Tom Sightings on Sightings Over Sixty. “I’m scheduled for a colonoscopy next week.” For a PG-rated account of the perils of colon cancer — and how to prevent it — check out his latest post called The Bottom Line on Colon Cancer.

Positive Changes

Change can be a scary thing but if we can overcome our fears, change can empower us to achieve so much in our life.  This week, some of the Boomers look at Change – in ourselves, where we live, our career and life.

Any change in the world around us begins with ourselves, Carol Cassara points out at A Healing Spirit, and she gives us an easy way to send love out into the world to help heal it….while healing ourselves.  Visit Carol and read How to change ourselves + the world with Ho’oponopono

Rebecca Olkowski with writes about apartment life as an option after retirement and its pros and cons. Would you ever consider it?

We make decisions every day.  Some are small like what color shirt I’m going to wear.  Others are big, like do I become a nun?  On Unfold And Begin, Jennifer, interviews Janet who made the decision to become a nun and then 13 years later made the decision to leave the convent.  Read Why She Left The Convent To Embrace Change to learn more about Janet

I know that I have been making some changes in my personal and blogging life and it is a continuing process for me.  You may have noticed I have a new look website for Sizzling Towards 60 & Beyond and if you subscribe to my weekly Coffee Catch Up, will know that I am completely revamping the style of presentation and content.  This won’t happen overnight, because some change can take time and needs planning and thought to be successful.

I hope you have enjoyed this week’s edition of the Best of Boomer Blogs.  Don’t forget to leave us a comment and also share the love.

Let’s Keep Sizzling!

Lots of important and interesting stuff here. My husband had colon cancer so he has regular colonoscopies. Not fun, but it’s 14 years and going strong for him so they do save lives!

Hi Ness, my Dad died from bowel cancer 37 years ago so I regularly have colonoscopies. Great to hear your husband is doing well and although some people don’t enjoy the prep for the screening, it is so worthwhile. Have a great week. x
