'A' is for Attitude


To make the most of life and achieve your dreams you need to have the right ATTITUDE.  As Winston Churchill says ‘ Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference’.  We all know that we have days where we wake up and we aren’t quite as bright-eyed and busy tailed as we would like.

The day can then go either way – we can stay in that ‘woe is me’ attitude or we can ‘take 5’ to appreciate all the good things in life THE CHOICE IS OURS!

Having the right attitude does wonders not just for your mental health but your physical health.


  • A positive mindset helps us to feel mentally strong and able to cope with life’s curve balls.
  • A positive mindset gives us the ability to feel motivated and take ACTION to ACHIEVE
  • A positive mindset makes us great to be around and we can inspire others

This is especially important as we reach midlife.  In my post ‘Positive Aging is Posivitely Wonderful’ I examine the effects of attitude on maintaining a healthy and happy lifestyle.  Often as we get older we see the ‘grumpy’ syndrome emerge.  Well it doesn’t have to be that way! 

Do you really want to drift through life in a state of negativity?


Do you want to take life head on and make the most of it?

I know which person I would rather be!

Yes, we all reach midlife at some point BUT THAT IS NOT THE END!  This phase of life CAN BE EXCITING AND WONDERFUL. I know Menopause can be a drag but there are so many options to help with this and having a positive, fun attitude certainly is one of them.

In that post I wrote about CHOICES.  We all have choices in life and we have a choice in the attitude we have.

Midlife can be the start of a wonderful new life with

  • new dreams and goals to achieve,
  • newfound freedom,
  • new adventures.


We all make our own happiness so ADOPT A POSITIVE ATTITUDE, TAKE ACTION AND ACHIEVE.Click To Tweet

    What you say is so true Sue – it’s all about our attitude and how we choose to see the stage of life we’re in and also how we view our world. Taking a positive outlook is so much more enriching and motivating than sitting back waiting for life to happen to us!

      I know we have our moments as we are only human but it seems so much easier to be positive and it makes you feel great! I don’t want to become a ‘grumpy old woman’

    This is the post I’m starting off A to Z with and it’s a good one. This bodes well for things to come in April. This is advice that is important for all of us to heed. I think the older I get, the more positive I get. I wouldn’t want it any other way.

    Great post! I think it can apply to all stages in life too, I’m 30 this year, am experiencing a rough pregnancy and we’ve had a really stressful time with finances and a house move BUT… I’m married to my amazing husband, we have an awesome son and a baby girl on the way, we’re finally moving into our dream home and I love my life!xx

    I agree that attitude is so important. I see people at the office that are negative all the time and it reflects in their success level.

      Yes it is surprising how people don’t realise how your attitude affects your life. Perhaps they do know but aren’t sure how to change. I know if I wake up and say ‘today will be a good day’ at least in my mind I’m setting the intention. Thank you for stopping by and I hope to connect more through the challenge.

    One of the many mother-isms I repeated over the years was, “Attitude is everything!” You can change a whole lot with a change in your perspective and how you approach a problem, or just your day! I have to say, last week was a tough one for me. I kept *trying* to adjust my attitude, but I don’t think I made it through a single day without breaking down in tears at some point. Can you believe two people close to me told me it was the onset of menopause??? THE NERVE!!!! Hahaha! Personally, I blame it on my body being run down from being sick for so long. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! 🙂 Happy to say, the old attitude is scoring an “A” this week! Loving your series, Sue!

      It certainly is Wendy! Sometimes if I wake up in a bad mood I try to change my attitude and it does work. I hope you are feeling better. You need to look after yourself and listen to your body. I’m so pleased you are enjoying the series. I’m loving yours as well.

    I love the idea of “take 5 to appreciate”!!! I definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed the other day,…and had such a hard time getting past a lousy mood! What a great idea—– Thank you Sue!

      Hi Gigi! Yes I know it is sometimes so hard to get out of a bad mood. I just read about taking a breath and put it into action and it really works. Taking 5 minutes to breathe deeply helps to relieve the tension and stress. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!
