February the second month of the year. We’ve probably drifted through January after the holiday season, grappled with New Year Resolutions, chosen our WOTY (or not) so by now we are ready to take on 2024. It’s the last month of Winter for our Northern Hemisphere friends and the last month of Summer where I live here in Queensland, Australia.
Subtle changes are starting to happen around us and it’s a good time to start new projects or put ideas into place that you’ve had sitting on the back burner for a while.
In January, I used the time to get back on track with my fitness goals and managed to work out or move every day for at least 30 minutes. I’m feeling so much better physically and mentally and will continue my program into February.
February is when the year really starts I think. Life is back to normal, school is back, it’s back to work after the holidays and the festive season is well and truly behind us. That can be a little depressing so I’m suggesting ‘It’s February – 8 ways to make it Fabulous’.
During the dying days of January I pondered what I could do to make February Fabulous and also provide some ideas for my WOTY – Freedom. We can get so bogged down in life that we forget to be Fabulous and to have Fun so let’s change that!
Here are some ideas to make your February Fabulous although I’m sure you can add to the list so leave me a comment with your ideas.
8 ways to make February Fabulous
UN – it’s important for our mental health and well-being to incorporate some fun into life. Did you do something that was fun in the past but haven’t done it lately? Why not make a list of fun things you used to do and enjoyed and make an intention to start doing them again.
NERGISE YOUR BODY AND MIND – feeling sluggish? The best way to energise your body and your mind is to start moving. I know when I feel tired if I get up and move about I instantly feel more energised. After a workout I feel I can take on the world! Find some form of movement that you enjoy and can commit to doing for 30 minutes consistently throughout the month. You’ll be surprised at how fabulous you will feel.
ALANCE & BOUNDARIES – Life is not all about ‘doing’ sometimes we need to find the right balance of ‘doing’ and ‘being’. That means taking time out to rest, it means being able to politely say ‘No’ rather than trying to be everything to everyone. Setting boundaries will bring balance to life. It doesn’t mean you give up on doing things for yourself and others, but it means being more selective and respective of your valuable time.
ECONNECT – Time to reconnect in several ways. Reconnect with family and friends whom you haven’t seen for some time Reconnect with nature and it’s healing benefits by taking time for nature walks and mindfulness walks
Reconnect with yourself – what is your body telling you? how are you feeling mentally? how are you making space for peace in your life?
NLEASH – we all have creativity and a power within but sometimes our limiting beliefs are holding us back. Make some time to unleash your creative soul and try something new without judging yourself or your abilities. Step outside your comfort zone and you might be pleasantly surprised at how strong you are. Step out of your comfort zone and try some new fashion styles or colours, maybe a new hairstyle, take art or craft classes, learn a language or maybe try rock climbing (LOL) or an activity that challenges you.
CTION – Is there something you have been wanting to achieve but feel you can’t? Is there something you need to do but have been procrastinating? Are there some uncomfortable conversations you need to have not only with others but with yourself? Make a note of what you want or need to do and then TAKE ACTION, be brave and go for it!
ELAXATION – reading, having a long soak in the bath, meditating, journaling are just a few of the many ways you can find relaxation. Incorporate some rest and relaxation each day and enjoy the moment.
OU – whatever you choose to do to make February Fabulous make sure YOU are the centre of your attention. Take time this month to appreciate YOU and your unique qualities and keep the focus on YOU because you deserve it.
