Are you living life your way? If not, why not? What is holding you back from enjoy life?
In this week’s Micro Monday episode on the Women Living Well After 50 podcast, I’m sharing 5 behavioural areas you need to review to ensure you are living life your way, on your terms.
Take a listen to the podcast which also includes a one minute meditation to reset and refocus on the week ahead
We all have responsibilities in life, yet we are also individuals and entitled to live a life that brings joy and fulfillment.
For me, I am a wife, mother, Nan, friend, fitness instructor, life and transition coach – so many labels but more importantly I am Sue with my own dreams and goals.
It is so important to be aware of what we want from our life. As the saying goes ‘life isn’t a dress rehearsal’.
More importantly as an individual we need to
- stop feeling guilty for putting yourself first
- recognise our own needs and desires.
- take time for self-care and nurturing our mind, body and spirit.
- stop worrying what others will think or say
- understand that a ‘happier’ you benefits everyone in your life.
Share with me your thoughts. How are you living the life your way, rather than by other people’s standards and opinions?

Thank you for another thought-provoking Micro Monday, Sue. I agree that labels can do us harm and can limit and restrain us. “Not overthinking what others think of us” is so important – but not always easy to achieve — especially when it is someone that we deeply care about. As you say, a difficult balance.
Wonderful advice, Sue. Toni x
Great points Sue – and I’m working on several of them. There’s still so much I have to unlearn from my childhood and the baggage I carry – but it’s never too late to grow into yourself and enjoy life on your own terms.
This was another great Micro Monday Sue, with good sensible tips and advice. I like the way you say we should be bold and brave and that is getting easier to do as I get older I’m finding. I’m happier in my own skin and am not so dependent on everyone else’s approval. It’s all balance as you say! Thanks for your care and support, you are an inspiration in all you achieve and do for others.
