Sometimes you just need that extra push and I’ve selected five quotes this week to inspire us to do more.  I hope they help you in keeping on your health and wellness path and you refer to them when you feel like giving up.

Life can be challenging and keeping on track with our goals isn’t always easy.  If you are having difficult you can find some tips on getting back on track in my post Get  Fit & Fabulous: 4 Ways to Get Back On Track When Life Gets In the Way and Stop beating yourself up when you fall off the fitness track

This is such a great reminder that no matter where we are in life we can always improve our health and wellness.  We just to start!

5 quotes to inspire health and wellness

I’ve heard people say they treat their ‘body as a temple’.  Now I’m not sure I go that far but I do realise that my body is affected by the way I treat it.  I won’t get another so it is important to treat our bodies with care and respect.

5 quotes to inspire health and wellness

This is such a great quote because it is true.  No matter how much money you have, you aren’t immune to illness.  Money can’t buy happiness or a healthy body.  Sure it can pay for medical treatment but who wants to get to that stage.  I would rather take steps to keep as healthy and fit as I possibly can.

5 quotes to inspire health and wellness

Oh yes, we all procrastinate don’t we!  We set the goal and say ‘I’m going to start….’ and then life gets in the way and we say ‘I’ll start tomorrow’.  But those tomorrows add up and suddenly a year or so has gone.  Stop procrastinating and start doing you will feel fabulous and won’t look back with regret a year from now.

I’ve written before about the ‘D’ word and how I just don’t have it as part of my vocabulary.  You can read what I mean in ‘D’ is for Diet – Why Fad Diets don’t work long term  Fad diets don’t work so avoid going down that path!  If you want to lose weight and be healthy you need to make a LIFESTYLE CHANGE and that means making a long term commitment.

Loving our bodies is so important and that is why I became a Body Image Ambassador.  So many of us have such a negative attitude to our bodies and the way we look.  We should be loving our bodies inside and out to be healthy and fit not to try to look like some unattainable image we see in magazines.  I was surprised to read comments from many women of midlife who have low self esteem which prompted me to write Embrace a Positive Body Image and be FREE

I love the one about wishing you’d started today. Hubby and I have just started a major lifestyle change in our eating habits. We already feel better! Pinning.

Oh good for you and your husband, Shelley! It certainly makes it easier if you are doing it together. Imagine how you will feel in a month or two! Thanks for pinning and have a lovely weekend. xx

My favorite was “a year from now you’ll wish you had started today”. In 2012 I started a rogram of lifestyle changes and one year later I had shed (I don’t like to say “lost” because what is lost can be found) weight, and was healthier. If I had not started that a year before. It was hard work, and it will be hard work forte rest of my life. But if I hadn’t started, none of the good things would have happened.

I love the way you look at your lifestyle change, because that is what it is. Diets are short term but lifestyle changes are long term and bring countless benefits. Good for you and keep up the good work. Love your use of the word ‘shed’ rather than ‘lost’. x

This post is fabulous. It is great to be reminded that it is never to late to start – today is better than never! It is crazy how this busy life gets in our way, but if we would just take the time to live the way we should we truly would be able to accomplish just as much (or even more). Oh yes Jen and I’m happy to see my daughter and SIL instilling a healthy lifestyle into my grandsons. They encourage fresh air, lots of playtime, little screen time, healthy eating and most of all building healthy relationships. It is a joy to watch. xx
