Sometimes we are hell bent on over-planning our life. We plan down to the last detail and are disappointed or can’t cope when life throws a curve ball. This quote to me is saying that I should be less of a control freak with my life and actually be open to opportunities that come my way. Enter doors that open and explore new adventures.
I think most of us are too hard on ourselves and our own worst critic. We can forgive others but sometimes we need to actually forgive ourselves and remind ourselves that no, we aren’t perfect but we are worthy of our own forgiveness.
I’m not very good at accepting and admit I can hold a grudge. As I get older I realise what a waste feeling this way is. Holding on to something that happened perhaps years ago and actually stopped me enjoying my life and being happy. Sometimes it is hard to have faith in the unknown but if you think positively it can be exciting.
I’ve written before about letting go. Letting go of negatives in your life including personal relationships and friendships. Some friendships can be toxic and pull us down, we might be in a job that we hate but aren’t brave enough or self-confident enough to realise that there is something better our there for us.
Oh this is one that I’ve struggled with over the years! Trying to be someone I’m not just to please others and in doing so have been miserable. I’m not almost 60 (this year) and finally being who I am and being proud of who I am. The main person we need to impress is ourselves. Be true to yourself and don’t place so much importance on what others think.
