Well we can’t put it off any longer – we are almost into July, officially at the midway point of another year. How is your year going?
Some of you are enjoying a long summer break whilst here in Australia we are snuggling up in Winter.
The last couple of months I’ve been trying to write to a theme. We had a Month of Happiness in May and then I concentrated in June for my Health and Wellness. I’d love you to revisit some of those posts so just click on the links and enjoy.
So here we are almost into July and I was wondering what my theme might be. I then saw a prompt on Denyse Whelan’s blog about Taking Stock and a Half Year Review. It is a perfect time to reassess our lives and see where we are going for the rest of the year.
We start off each year full of anticipation and ideas of what we want to do and achieve. However, most of our New Year Resolutions don’t even make it to the end of January!
We all say ‘time flies’ and life is busy that is for sure but unless you make the most of each day and have a general plan of what you might want from your life then you will continue to waste time. I will be 60 next month and wasting time is not on my agenda at this time of life – what about you?
31 days to focus on you
In July, I’ll be bringing you ideas to focus on YOU. My posts will be about finding your focus, reviewing your year, planning for the future and the importance of self care. I will also be featuring another group post from some wonderful ladies Over 50 who will share their fashion tips.
Don’t you deserve some time to focus on yourself?
There are 31 days in July and even just doing something small for yourself each day will improve your mental and physical well being and fill your soul with warmth and contentment.
So let’s start with Reviewing & Planning
Review of my Year
Late last year I wrote a post 17 things on my ‘to do’ list in 2017 I did a quick review back at the end of February when I wrote ‘Is it time to take stock of your life?’ and was pleasantly surprised to see that I was on track and had actually ticked off a few boxes.
Reviewing our plans and goals is so important because life changes and sometimes so must our plans.
It is good to have a plan but you need it to be flexible to cope with life’s interruptions.
Still on My to do List
- Complete my fun run schedule for 2017 with my Saturday Sisters – my big ones are the Gold Coast Half Marathon in July and a 34km run in August just before my 60th birthday.
- Photography – I’m procrastinating with this I just need to actually take my camera and take some photos.
- Regular massages – my daughter gave me a voucher for Mother’s Day so I need to at least use that.
- Volunteer – I am in the process of being accepted to volunteer at my MIL’s aged care home.
- We are on track for our holiday to Spain and Italy in October
Plan for my Blog
I’ve been posting more regularly the last few months and decided to put a definite plan into place. If you read the blog daily I want to give you an idea of what my plan will be so you don’t miss a topic you enjoy reading about.
Now, I know this seems ambitious and I don’t like to just post anything just for the sake of posting. BUT at the moment I am enjoying my blogging and connecting with my regular readers as well as new friends I’ve have met so I thought why not? If I don’t post the world won’t end but while I’m feeling positive and motivated I want to share that with YOU and hopefully help you to feel that way too!
Mondays – Meaningful Mondays will provide inspiration and motivation to get the week going
Tuesdays – Tuesday’s Tip – each week I will provide a helpful tip that I’ve picked up along the way.
Wednesdays – Fit & Fabulous day – we are mid week so let’s be fit and fabulous with healthy posts
Thursdays -Thursday Thoughts – Anything Goes on Thursdays with guest posts or one of the writing challenges I’ll be taking part in or whatever I’m thinking about.
Fridays – Friday Favourites – each week I will share a favourite quote or previous post of mine which is still relevant.
I hope that you will enjoy my July theme of Ideas to Focus on YOU!
Do you have any plans you want to fulfil in the next six months? I’d love to hear about it and maybe help inspire you to achieve your goal.
