For my final day of the 3 days, 3 quotes Challenge my quotes are all about Friendship.
I was nominated to take part in the Challenge by Mackenzie from reflections from me . Day 1 I posted quotes about Midlife, Day 2 was all about Rejuvenation and now Day 3 the topic I have chosen is Friendship.
On the weekend I ran in a half marathon with a group of friends. We call each other ‘The Saturday Sisters’ and have been running together now for about 5 years. My daughter, Rachel, first on the left and shivering because of the cold morning, originally introduced me to these wonderful ladies and they hold a very special part in my life.
Each week we run together and use the time to chat as well as keep healthy and fit! This time is so special to each of us as we can share what is happening in our lives – the good and the bad – without judgement or comment. We set our goals for running for the year and it is this that keeps us together, although if we didn’t run we would still catch up each week for a coffee and chat.
Our conversations cover many subjects – what has happened during the week, what is the latest in the news, latest movies or books we have seen or read.
I love that each of us are at a different stage of our life. I’m the only mother and grandmother in the group. They are there for me 100% as I am for them and that is a comforting thought.
I have a friend who is my daughter’s godmother and we have been friends for 37 years. I don’t see or speak to Marilyn often as she lives in another State. However, when we do catch up it is as if time has stood still, and we take up where we left off.
Friendships like these are priceless. They can weather any storm and you know that if you really need that person they will be there for you.
Friends can bring so much richness to our lives and are so important to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. This quote reminds me that to describe friendship is not easy. You cannot sum it up in one word. Friends can be the same or the opposite to us. True friends don’t have to like the same things all the time. In fact, having friends with different opinions and ideas helps us to grow as individuals and realise that sometimes we may not know everything!
That was the final in my 3 days, 3 quotes, Challenge I hope you enjoyed them.

Thank you Toni that is so sweet of you!
I love your quotes and the love that you chose friendship as your subject so that you could highlight and nuture some of your favorite people! Friendship might be a million little things but your three quotes certainly do honor just how much you value your friendships!
Yes Ruth, Friendships are so important and I truly appreciate my friends. I don’t have a large group but I have quality friendships and that makes all the difference. Have a great day!
you are lucky to have your Saturday sisters! What a cute name and what a beautiful friendship circle.
I am lucky Carol and I do love our name. We keep saying we will get Tshirts printed! They are a great group and I love that my daughter is part of that group and introduced me to these fun and loving ladies.
Beautiful post and quotes and pictures! Your friends are so fortunate to have you… and you them. You inspire me to reach out and hug the ones I love (or at least share a quote or two from the super ones you’ve included). Cheers to friends!
Oh you made my day Lisa, I love inspiring others. Friendship is so important – it isn’t the quantity but the quality of friends that makes life so rich and beautiful. Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by.
First congrats on your half marathon! What a wonderful accomplishment! Your running group sounds like a wonderful group of supportive women. You are lucky to have that community of support.
Thanks Rosie! Yes we all keep each other motivated with our running so I’m very lucky.
I love these quotes – they’re so true! I’ve made some of my best friends after 50, and many of them started out as online friendships. They have enriched my life incredibly.
Hi Lois! Yes I think as we age we find that it is the quality of friendships that are important. I’ve actually become friends with girls I went to school with and was not even in their circle 40 years ago! It took a high school reunion to bring us together and because we are different people now, with life experience we found we had so much in common. I have made quite a few online friendships unfortunately most of them in other countries so I need to maybe plan some holidays to visit!
Those are beautiful quotes! I love friendship quotes!!
Thanks Gigi! I love friendship quotes too! Have a lovely weekend my friend. xx
